you can change the game vol. and the chat vol. so ya both.

It is not a wireless headset. You have to have the wires plugged in for it to work. And also, you can hear both the game and chat with these, but you have the option to turn the volume up or down or off with the chat and game volume.

The X12 TB headset is wired. but you get around 10 ft. of wire so you have plenty of room to work with.

The higher prices ones are wireless, the lower priced ones are not.

This gaming headset is sold wired or wireless. You have an option. I do not know the exact length of the wire model, although my friend has a wired headset and it is at least 4-5 feet long. Hope this helps!

Is the turtle beach ear force x12 gaming headset wireless or wired?

I don't have the exact measurements for the wire, but I would say that the wire is well over 4 feet long, I have most of it wrapped up while I use them to avoid rolling over the wires with my chair. even with at least half of it wrapped up, I can sit on my bed with my headphones on comfortably while my computer sits on my desk about 4-5 feet away. Reallyyyy long cable!

Turtlebeach.com states it is an 16’ cable.

I just purchased these for my son and printed on the box it states the cord is 16ft long... I haven't measured his but i can honestly say the cord is sooooo long that i had to use a twist tie to shorten the cord.

The reviews for the product are not understated in the least. It performs just about as well as advertised. The dynamic bass boost is quite potent, and I find I actually have to turn it down as it gives too much bass when on full blast. The built-in Mic Monitor function it boasts is a wonderful feature that really makes the headset work as you can hear yourself talk while you've got your game, music, or whatever blasting through the headphones. It will definitely save you from "accidentally" shouting to your buddies on the other end of your Xbox LIVE party or chat session.

Be forewarned: the hookups can be a bit involved. It's not just a one-plug USB connection as the box cover may make it seem. However, as the bottom of the box indicates, the package contains everything you'd need to hook it up regardless of what setup you've got, so there's really no need to worry. Just know that it's not gonna be strictly USB connection. You will have to connect a few audio cables to get this to work.

The only anomaly I noticed while using this headset was a buzzing noise when I had the headset connected to my Xbox 360 controller while it was connected to the play-and-charge cable. After experimenting with the connections, I discovered that it was simply the charging cable causing the interference. A slight issue, but nothing really worth complaining about. Simply don't charge your controller while using the headset, or don't have the headset connected to your controller while charging it, and you'll be fine.

Awesome performance for an affordable price.

I never expected this headphone to be really clear. You can hear the backround really clearly from far distance. Other headphones I tried, hurt my ears after I wore them for over 2 hours but this one didn't even bother me after 4 hours. This is a really good headphone.

These Turtle Beach x12s are excellent for gaming or listening to music, they bring superb surround sound straight to your ears. They definitely live up to their reputation.

Amazing audio for Gaming or Music.

We've had these for a few weeks now and my boys love them! They can hear all the stuff in the background that they haven't heard before. These are a great price and I bought the 2 year warranty for $5.00 - just in case. No hassle refund - perfect for my 10 year old that roughs up stuff.

Great for my boys

I got this headset for my son when playing video and computer games, and he loves the headset. My son says that everything sounds better; He can now hear what is going on in the game better, even when he is chatting with his friends. I have even used the headset when watching a movie on netflix thru his xbox or on the computer; I have to say that the sound is better thru the headset than without the headset because sometimes the sounds of the movies are louder than the people talking. Overall, the headset makes all the sounds more distinctive, and you can hear everything clearly.

Great headset overall

It works very well. I wear the headset often and it doesn't hurt my ears or give me a head ache. It was easy to set up. It took about 2 mins total to get it out of the box and completely set up ready to use.

Xbox360 girl gamer

Picked these up during the Cyber Monday sale for my dad as a Christmas present. He uses them for his PC games and listening to YouTube videos. He is amazed by the sound quality and comfort of these. Him flaunting them has made my husband jealous so now he wants a pair for himself.

I use the x32 wireless set because I play in the living room and can't have wires for the kids and pets to trip over. I'll be honest - IF IT WEREN'T FOR THAT FACTOR - I would use the x12's as the sound is much better than the wireless sets and whole lot cheaper. If wires aren't a problem - and they are extra long - then go with the x12 and save your money.

JUST AS GOOD AS THE MORE EXPENSIVE WIRELESS

Really happy with these. Got them for $30 during black friday sale, and really couldn't be more pleased. They are full stereo, have plugins to your tv so you can use them with your tv for headphones while watching television as well (just keep your xbox on and change component)

You can't beat Turtle Beach as a brand. I've had cheaper models that lasted a year or so and worked great, but i assume you get what you pay for. Even at regular price of around $60 i would fully recommend these to anyone.

Great stereo, Dual purpose headphones

I bought the x32 before. The warranty program is a joke. This product broke within 2 months. And again in 4 months. I have to send this product back to Turtle Beach. WHAT A HASSLE!!!! You should let the customer return to store where it was purchased. I would not recommend this product and warranty to anyone.
