Movie Description

The following content was provided by the publisher.

"Doc Hollywood": Beverly Hills. The most beautiful women in the world. Plastic surgery. "What do these three things have in common?" Dr. Ben Stone (Michael J. Fox) asks, "Me, in less than a week!" It turns out to be an eye-opening week. Stone is a newly-minted MD whose medical fast lane cruise takes a small-town detour. Grady, South Carolina, Squash Capital of the South, is home to salt-of-the-earth folks who give the West Coast-bound hotshot the seasoning he lacks. "Mr. Wonderful": The puppy love they shared has gone to the dogs. But Gus still wants ex-wife Lee to be happy. Besides, alimony payments are cutting into his dream of renovating a rundown Brooklyn bowling ally. So Gus realizes there's only one thing to do. He must find her a "Mr. Wonderful". When he finally finds the right guy, Gus realizes something else. He wants Lee back! "Michael": Would-be ghosts. UFO voyagers. A chicken that pecks out Moonlight Sonato on the piano - blindfolded! They're the kind of stories the keep the National Mirror in the nation's shopping carts. and they're the kind of stories that make the tabloid's reporters think they've heard and seen it all. But that's before the meet Michael. He may be a grubby party animal who knows his way round a dance floor, but Michael is very much an angel. And with John Travolta in the title role, "Michael" is very much a divine romantic comedy, directed by Nora Ephron ("Sleepless In Seattle). William Hurt, Andie MacDowell and Robert Pastorelli are writers sent by boss Bob Haskin to get an exclusive on the heavenly visitor. The journalists want a page-one scoop. But their subject has a far more joyous and life-affirming plan in mind.
