Exerpeutic 325 High Capacity Magnetic Manual Treadmill with Pulse 3.3 5 45 46
Does the expected but not exactly what's claimed. An affordable treadmill, this is great for what it is.You can definitely use this instead of heading out in the cold. However, it is not the same as walking.Your leg muscles get more of a workout on this machine than regular walking, and you have to hold on to the machine for stability so there is no total body movement. You will work up a sweat and heart rate more quickly than walking and wonder how you ever walked three miles after 20 minutes on this thing. The magnetic tension control knob is poor quality. You will have to turn it while positioning the actual magnet at the flywheel with your other hand to make adjustments. The computer quit working after about 5 minutes. It eventually started working again, although I question its accuracy. The trick is to not press any buttons before you use the machine and it will come on and function. If you press buttons prior to using the machine it is impossible to get it to take readings except for heart rate.I emailed the company after immediately registering the product after I received it about the control knob and computer and never got a reply. Don't expect customer service of any kind. The belt will move left and right differently for different people. Be prepared to make adjustments. You have to be patient with this process until you become comfortable with it. Follow the directions when making adjustments. You want to turn the side that the belt is moving toward 1/4 turn or so at a time.I never used to have to stretch or anything when walking. After using this machine my legs feel tight all the time and I definitely have to stretch before using the machine. It's a lot of work and not the same as walking. I would recommend a unit with a motor if you want to walk or run more naturally. You will not be able to swing your arms or have a natural stride when walking or running. Not the same was walking, running, or motorized treadmill, but will let you get exercise without going out in the cold. Definitely will work up a sweat and heart rate and work leg muscles. 01/30/2012
For me it was all about the money...I couldn't spend hundreds but needed an indoor alternative to walking outside in the colder months and/or an alternative to walking alone. Great value for the money. Even smaller than a manual treadmill I owned - but that does not detract from its performance. Belt is plenty wide and long enough. A basic machine that offers all you need (pre set programs to maximize workouts, enough HP for running, nice readout screen, etc) but without all the unnecessary bells and whistles. Fitness on a budget! 01/24/2012
I purchased this treadmill to use on days that the weather don't allow me to get outside to enjoy my 5 mile walks. I never tried a manual treadmill so I was skeptical that this machine could give me a work out that would work for me. After using this treadmill for 3 weeks, I am very satisfied with my purchase. The manual treadmill gives me more of a work out than the motorized treadmill that I owned for 14 years before it quit working. If this machine wears out before I do, I would certainly buy another one! 01/24/2012
Poorly packed open @ pick up Ok if your just getting back on your feet, and You have to be at lest 6 feet tall no way to ajust handlebars .The Magnet maybe has a 1 lb. pull , and to me is usless. it's more in the incline of the mill that gives the work out. It has a good steel frame, but dout the running belt last a yr. The plastic that holds the computer and tension control knob was cracked around the handlebar from it being droped so please open the box and look the mill over! Not only was the plastic cracked but pant was skuffed and the anti-slip pad on the left was chiped from not locking the running deck in place the right way befor packing. 12/26/2011
