I would definitely not use a hand mixer. The porcelain coating can be chipped if not treated carefully. A metal hand whisk would be fine though.

No. You can't use any metal objects. I only use plastic or wooden.

from documentation: "We recommend using silicone, nylon, bamboo or wood utensils. Using metal utensils or sharp objects on any surface may damage the cooking surface over time and void the warranty." I'd guess it's probably not a good idea. However, a stick blender where the blades are enclosed in a plastic housing might be ok, as the blades couldn't hit the ceramic (but perhaps not a metal stick).

Only Nylon and Wood utensils are recommended. A metal hand mixer can damage the enamel.

I wouldn't recommend it, the beaters could chip the enamel. This if it this way you wouldn't use a metal scraper on teflon to avoid gouging the pan.

I would say no because it recommends not using any metal objects or any sharp objects, if it is damaged by them it may affect your warranty.

I think that would scratch the enamel. You need to treat it like a non-stick pan. Using wooden spoons and rubber spatulas not metal utensils or a hand mixer.

I think anything metal will damage the interior. The brochure says to use plastic or wooden utensils.

As with any cookware, you must take care to use the proper equipment. We recommend only using wooden, nylon, plastic or silicone utensils with the cookware to preserve its finish and coating. Mixers and blending sticks may have different attachments (which are mainly metal) and/or sharp edges. We do NOT recommend using a mixer or blending stick in the cookware. An alternative option would be to carefully transfer your potatoes to a large bowl or container for mixing.

Can a hand mixer be used in the pot without damaging the interior?

I use it on my glass top with no problem. Just can't drag it or anything like that

It works great on a glass top electric stove. I have used it several times with no problems. I would be careful not to drag it across the stovetop.

it should work very well just not too high of heat and no dry cooking and you are to lift it to move it from burner to burner on a glass top.

i have a glass top induction oven and it works great on it and in it. just remember do not push,pull,or slide could scratch glass top.also do not put on stove top while hot burner is hot.put dutch oven on stove top while cool and heat both up together.

it should be fine it has a flat bottom without grooves,it's smooth.

Works great on glass stovetop. Heats well and holds the heat. This is heavy so you must be careful when moving pot to avoid damaging your stovepot.

Great! Just try not to slide it around as it may scratch the glasstop. Not deeply, just light surface scratches. My glasstop is old and pretty scratchy, so not a problem for me.

How does it work on glass top electric stoves?

at least lightly spray with cooking oil, or wipe with oil on a paper towel. i've had absolutely no problems with sticking, just wipes out. oh, and the instructions are right about the heat you subject it to. since cast iron holds the heat so well, you really don't want to go above between medium and medium high. just let it warm up a little longer (with the oil in in), and you should be golden.

First off you should season the pot by rubbing a little oil inside and around the edges (pot and lid). Put in oven for an hour and then its good to go (seasoned). When cooking I just use about a Tbsp. of oil and go from there with onions etc..

Soak a little and use the scotchbrite scrub sponge.

Documentation states the enamel surfaces are not suitable for dry cooking. Some liquid, butter or oil must be used prior to heating to prevent damage to the ceramic. Hopefully this would prevent most sticking as well.

I just seasoned the pot with cooking oil when I first got it and I havent had a problem with the sticking. Did you season yours?

turn the heat down. You only cook on low to medium heat with these pots. If your heat is too high, it's going to stick. You cannot use non-stick sprays on cast iron or enameled cast iron.

Sprayed bottom and sides with Pam Cooking Spray before each use. No problem with sticking.

you need to cook with a liquid, butter or oil.

you my be cooking at a temperature too high since cast iron is a great conductor of heat and heats evenly with no hot spots. try a lower temp
it will actually cook at a higher temp.(unlike like using a higher temperature in other types of pots and pans). and you can never go wrong with spraying alittle cooking spray in before beginning.

I haven't had sticking issues. It's fairly non-stick. I do use a little oil in cooking (like to saute mushrooms) and it seems fine.
