Rated 5 out of 5 by LittleFalls1634 I'm enjoying this game This Game is a great turn based battle game. you move the members on your team attacking those on the opposition, and they then get a chance to attack you. This continues until someone on your team is killed, or until you complete the mission. Many may get bored with this, as the game has a very long single player mode, but those who like turn based strategy games will enjoy this. multi-player is also available with one 3ds as you pass the 3ds back and forth between players as they take there turn. 04/24/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by MotherOfOne00 Excellent game for Turn-Based Strategy Fans Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars is simply an amazing game. If you like challenging turn-based Strategy games then you should love this. You have 6 different characters (Ghosts) you use throughout the game, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Level them up with mild RPG elements as you progress and prepare to use your tactical prowess to overcome many obstacles. 11/14/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by pkrockin Best of the 3DS launch Great gameplay, high production value in sound. Again, superb gameplay for a turn-based strategy. If you've every played a Fire Emblem or Advance Wars, this game will feel very familiar. This game, however, fixes all the problems those games have carried throughout their series and improves upon ages-old mechanics like character progression. Units cannot miss or hit critically and damage ranges are very narrow, save for a few weapon types, thus the randomness typically associated with RPGs is minimized. Lots of information is provided to the player so that they can make the best choice every turn in terms of target and location.Character progression is entirely linear and characters only increase in strength when they are "awarded" by the player. Winning campaign scenarios earns award points; awarding characters with a point will add to total health, total movement, upgrade equipment, or add new passive abilities like health regeneration. While it may seem the player doesn't get much choice in progression, he does get to choose which characters' growth to prioritize and which 3 of each character's 6 weapons and armor to use in each battle. On the downside, the story is lackluster, the dialog is cheesy at best, the graphics are hardly above DS standards (it was originally a DS project before being moved to the 3DS platform), and no new mechanics are added in the last third of the game. Also, mutliplayer is clunky (though it only requires one copy!). Online support could be cool, possibly some type of leaderboard service.A very solid and strong title overall. Plus, how cool is it that a launch title is an RPG? A tactical RPG, even? With just a few new features and improvements, a sequel would be a stellar release. 10/29/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by techtonic54 Solid Strategy for Nintendo's Handheld With the dearth of quality titles on Nintendo's new handheld, Ghost Recon easily ranks as one of the system's best efforts. While not as complex as many strategy games on the PC or home consoles, it still provides a meaty dose of strategic plotting that any fan of the genera should happily sink his/her teeth into. Of the current crop of 3ds titles, this easily qualifies as one of my favorites of the bunch. 11/28/2011
