Good watch, black band This is a good watch with nice LARGE numbers for time and date, something that I appreciate since I can see them.The colors were a bit of a surprise to me, though they aren't bad. For example, from the picture I thought the watch band would be dark purple but it isn't - it is black, not purple at all. The supposed purple (on the sides of the body of the watch) is closer to light blue than purple. No problem! It looks good, but just wasn't what I expected.As for value, I don't see why Timex can't put out a watch like this for under $30. Oh well. It's not like it is going to break the bank.I had a watch in this style last year that I got online from a competitor of Wal-Mart, but the one I had was lavendar with a lavendar watchband. I loved it but after six months it broke. It started ringing the alarm at odd times (which I never set), and then showing incorrect times or nothing at all and otherwise behaving oddly. I hope this one doesn't break like that - - I doubt it will, since I have had Timex watches for years and have never had that happen before. 12/29/2009
Great Watch I read at least 100 reviews, online, before I bought this. The band may break or battery die, after a year. (I heard) But it was reasonably priced. I never take it off. (shower and wash dishes) And have had no problems with it getting wet. Which was why I bought it. I also like the alarms, hour chime, and indiglo light. The band doesn't breath though. So, sometimes I wear it lose like a bracelet. But it also doesn't start to smell. I heard the paint wears off after a year. Walmart came out with some cheaper ones after I bought this, so I got my son one for Christmas. I am very happy with it. 11/20/2009
Nice watch in pale blue. I finally had to give up after nearly 20 years on the old ironman watch I had because replacement straps were not holding up and start/stop button was getting fiddly. Have had this new watch about a month and love it. Works great, easy to use, beautiful pale blue in spite of being called 'purple'. I am a little worried about finding a replacement strap when the time comes, but hope to not have to worry about that for at least 5 years. So far so good. 04/07/2011
NOT RELIABLE MY WATCH IS ONLY 6 MONTHS OLD AND IT HAS GOTTEN CONDENSATION UNDER THE FACE WHEN WASHING DISHES AND SHOWERING WITH IT ON. BUT HAVING GONE INTO THE SWIMMING POOL FOR THE FIRST TIME, IT HAS GOTTEN TOTALLY WET INSIDE AND NOW IS NOT WORKING AT ALL. I HAVE HAD WONDERFUL TIMEX PRODUCTS IN THE PAST, SO I AM SHOCKED BY THE POOR QUALITY OF THIS ONE. I HOPE WALMART WILL TAKE IT BACK SINCE I HAVE LOST THE RECEIPT. IT IS SUPPOSED TO WATER PROOF TO 300 FEET, BUT A 4 FOOT POOL DID IT IN!!!! 06/09/2010
