Bought this thermos to pack in lunches for the kid's school, and it does exactly what you'd expect. Keeps things warm or cold all day until its reopened! One tip, if putting warm food in, before adding the food allow the thermos to get warm inside by adding warm/hot water 5 minutes before. Dump out the water, dry the inside, and then put in your warm food. It will stay warm for hours this way!

Great for Work/School Lunches!

This is a wonderful Thermos food jar! It's a great size for taking soup, chili, warm leftovers for school lunch, which is 3 hours into the school day. Also took it with me to an outdoor event and it kept my tea nice and hot. To prep, heat water to boiling (in a fantastic electric kettle that heats up fast) and pour into clean jar. While I'm prepping the rest of lunch, the hot water heats the interior of the Thermos. Just before heading out the door, I pour the water back in the kettle (to use next time) and fill the Thermos with lunch. Super easy! It also cleans really well, nice wide opening. I ordered two and will get two more with fall/winter ahead.

Perfect size for school lunch

i love this thermos.  it's a perfect size for me to have a nice lunch. so far I've used it for soup and chili and works really great. if I prep it with boiling water to heat up the thermos before I put in my hot food it stays hot a bit longer than the time that's listed on the tag. I'll make my food before I go to work and by the time I get to lunch it's not scalding hot but it's not cold either. totally recommend

perfect for lunch

I looked everywhere last school year for this type of thermos! I found this one at Walmart online this year and jumped on ordering 2 foe my 2 grandsons.  They go to a private school that does not have a microwave and has limited lunch choices(similar to public school). At least one day a week they take some type of pasta in their Thermos bottles. I pack it in the morning about 7:30 and they say it is still warm at lunch which is 12:00.

This is my second one. I pack my mother's lunch. (She's veteran nurse, just doesn't want to retire.) I try to make her healthy and enjoyable meals and snacks. But...  sometimes she just wants mac and cheese and doesn't even have time to heat it up. This holds enough food for a very quick meal at her station or desk. Keeps food hot for a long time.

Small but Mighty

This is everything I wanted. Fits in my daughter's lunch bag easily and keeps her food hot. Easy to clean. Allows for a greater variety in her lunches.

Great little thermos

I tried putting hot water in to keep the heat, and even so, it would not keep the chicken nuggets I made warm for my son's lunch within a 3 hour period.

Didnt work for me

I needed a container that kept my food hot for about 4 to 4 1/2 hours. This did not. First, I tried soup which was close to boiling when I put it in the container, and 4 1/2 hours later it was "cold". I thought that might have been because it was a thin liquid. Then I tried chili which was close to boiling when I put it in and 4 1/2 hours later it was "cold". For the price and shipping cost of this product, it was worth taking a chance, but I just don't want others to order it and be disappointed as well.

Not good for keeping foods hot until lunchtime

I got this to pack school lunch like soup, pasta, spaghetti etc. My kids complained about the food not staying warm enough by the time they eat lunch, which is about 4hrs. So the whole purpose for me is defeated right there. Quality is great. But the design is very narrow, I wish they had wide mouth options. Make it more like a bowl instead.
