We are in the midst of the greatest era of space discovery. Twenty first-century spacecraft and sophisticated imaging technology are venturing into uncharted territory every day, and much of the extraordinary phenomena are happening right in our own cosmic backyard. Take an exhilarating, unprecedented 3D tour of the seven most amazing wonders of our solar system, beginning with a trip to Enceladus, one of Saturn's outer moons, where icy geysers spout from its surface. Then venture to Saturn's famous rings, which contain mountain ranges that rival the Alps; dive into Jupiter's Great Red Spot, the eye of the biggest storm in the solar system; soar through the Asteroid Belt, made of millions of rocks left over from the formation of the solar system; trek up Mount Olympus, the largest volcano located on Mars; have a close encounter with the searing surface of the sun; and finish the journey by exploring our very own home - planet Earth.

I've about 10 Blu-ray DVD 3D and hands down this title beats the rest. The 3D experience was amazing, and the content was informative. Well done.

This is a decent 3D movie. Has some really eye popping scenes and information about various planets that I found very informative. I would not recommend spending $30 or $40 for it but if you find it for less than $15 ( as I did ) it is worth the price.

The only thing the comes close to a good Sci-Fi show is a good Science Show. This is a very good Educational program with excellent 3D results. Make me wish I still worked at the Planetairium.

I have some movies in 3d that only require 3d glasses. Do I need a 3d tv and a 3d blu-ray player to see this movie in 3d?

  • A. It depends. Some 3d movies (they often come with colored glasses) do not require a 3d player, cable, or tv). You can easily tell if this is the case by looking at the output from the movies on your tv. If the image looks to be smeary and colored (reds on one side blues on the other of lines of objects in yoru movie, you just need the cheap colored 3d glasses (usually only a dollar or two). If the image looks normal, the blue ray disk also has a 2d encoding and your player is showing you the image.

  • A. Yes, you need both. The 3D HDTV I have uses the same 3D glasses as the movie theathers. There are passive and active type 3D glasses. Also, you need to tell the 3D TV which 3D mode you have.

  • A. I am not an expert but I believe you have to have a 3D TV to see the movies in 3D.

  • A. The new 3D requires a 3D tv and #d blueray player unless you stream from a 3D website.

  • A. The discs that require only glasses are not the high quality 3d. Actual 3d bluray discs such as this require the player and tv. However, some 3d tvs are capable of creating a 3d image out of a 2d image as well.
