Rated 5 out of 5★ by AhTah The Spirit Lives!(On Blu-Ray) Will Eisner's original vision brought to life via Frank Millers' powerfully hyper- realistic imagery and spot on character direction. While told through a bold high contrast B&W (and red splash all over) visual style similar to "Sin City" and the soft sepia imagery of "300", is where the similarity's to Miller previous creative effort's end.The story stays very true to the source material, as Eisner's characters and world full of gritty undertone's shine through brilliantly thanks to Miller's mastery of creating visual narrative. The Cast obviously had a blast making this moving, as the dialog is delivered with just the right amount of drama and humor without taking it too serious, the way i believe Eisner originally intended. This movie is obviously a fan made labor of love,(and possibly the most underrated movie of the last couple of years). If you are a fan of "The Spirit" comic's or Will Eisner, you will love this movie. If you are expecting it to be as serious in tone, as say, the "Watchmen" or the more obvious comparison based solely on visual style such as "Sin City", you will be disappointed, who wouldn't if they hyped themselves up in such a manner anyway?(I walked out of Batman&Robin 15 minutes in when i saw it in a theater, so i know about that particular subject, too well).Visually Stunning on Blu-Ray, Action Packed and Fun!"The Spirit" Lives.... 10/02/2010

Rated 1 out of 5★ by PDMAC Don't bother I had high hopes for this, after Batman Begins, 300 and Sin City....but, this is the same Frank Miller that gave us Robocop2. Visually, it's great. That's the only good thing about it. The acting is terrible, the story is terrible....the only good thing about this BD is that you could balance a wobbly table with the case. 03/04/2010
