Rated 5 out of 5★ by JustADad007 Just what the Dr. ordered We found the tips in this book to be very helpful during our son's first year. It was also reassuring to know that doctors used these tips on their own children. I never dreamed we'd have so many questions and this book had the answers. 02/02/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by SaratogaMaryB Wonderful book! In addition to providing wonderful information and content, this is a very well written book. I especially enjoyed the chapter introductions that talk about the baby's development and the "taking care of you" tips for Mom. The writing is lovely to read. I look forward to reading the next book in the series! 02/01/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Mom2Sonshine Perfect Book For Baby's First Year The Mommy MD Guide to Your Baby's First Year features 70 doctor-moms with over 900 tips to help you navigate the first year of your new child's life! To make it easier on everyone, the book has been broken up into quarters. I think this is wonderful and helps new parents prep themselves for all the upcoming, rapid changes without overstimulating you're already tired, stressed out mind! Just like the pregnancy book, the first year book helps you see the development that is and will be happening each month as well as advice on how to feed, play, and transition your growing baby into toddlerhood!--Review by Becki from Outnumbered3-1.com 03/08/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Blairnan Wonderful companion for new moms I have purchased this book several times to give as a gift at baby showers to the children of my friends. All of the recipients have told me how useful the advice in this book is while they are navigating through their baby's first year. Although my children are grown, I too have consulted it at times while babysitting for my grandchild. The doctors quoted in the book give very sound advice, and their anecdotes are at times humorous. It's very reassuring to know what these doctors who are also mothers would do. 10/17/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by fatherof2iniowa great book for dads, too! I am the father of a three-year-old and a nine-month-old, and my wife bought the Mommy MD Guide shortly after the birth of our second son, Alex. Like most new parents, we were a little bit clueless about how we were supposed to handle this new joy in our lives, and we both really enjoyed the format of this book and how it mixed practical, factual medical information with first-person insight and wisdom from women doctors who have been through it.Each section starts with the nuts-and-bolts info you need, and then transitions to the tips from doctors. And I have to say ... these are some great tips! We found great ideas for everything from getting your baby to sleep to dealing with ear infections to coping with the in-laws. We have used quite a few of these tips with Alex, and they have worked wonders. At first, my wife would read this book aloud at night as we were getting ready to go to sleep. But gradually, I began to pick it up and read it on my own, too. I've been amazed by how much I've learned about our new baby. If you have a baby or your wife is expecting, I strongly suggest picking up this book to be your guide through the months to come. 05/25/2012
