Just like the original step, the high step is very sturdy and easy to use. I like the fact I can vary the height of the step depending on the workout I'm doing. I was using the original Firm brand "fanny lifter" that I purchased in 1994, but it's been getting squeeky lately and since it's made of wood I couldn't use an exercise band with it (or else the band would get worn and break from the friction). The High Step is also excellent with the older Firm workouts. Check out Cathe's "High Step Challenge" for an advanced workout using the high step - it'll reshape everything!

I am a personal trainer for in-home clients and I have recommended this product for them as well as myself. The different heights allow for a variety of exercises and various intensity levels to meet the needs of any exerciser.

I had been looking at purchasing the step for a while. I own most of Cathe's videos and it's a great addition to your workout equipment. I did read some reviews on Amazon that concerned me however. Many customers felt that the equipment and included video were not new. That is why I began to look elsewhere and found the same product on walmart.com for a good price. Unfortunately, I had the same experience as these other reviewers. The video was not shrinkwrapped and was a wreck on my dvd player. After taking the dvd out, I put in another and it too began to have problems. So, I threw the included dvd away and was concerned my dvd player was ruined. So far, no more problems though. In summary, if you are looking for the high step at a good price you will be satisfied. I've been using it for over a month with no problems. Also note, if you already own the club step it fits perfectly with those risers.

Great piece of equipment! I really enjoyed the workout that came with it. Not too complicated as the stepping surface is small, a great strength and cardio workout!

  • A. It seems pretty sturdy to me. I would think it would be tough to break. That's just my opinion. ;-)

  • A. I think you will be fine. It is just a warning. This will help you lose weight if you do the video, and keep a healthy diet.

  • A. You should be fine. 200lbs is for precautionary reasons. If you're loosing weight, then that's great!

  • A. I weight 175 and have used a 40lb barbell with it for leg presses if that gives you an indication.

  • A. I would think that the 200# max. might be a conservative number to protect the company. I think at 210 with relatively light weights, you'd still be okay. Of course, I am not the manufacturer or an expert in the field. I do, however, weigh 175 pounds and use the high step with weight that would cause the total to exceed 200#. Good luck!
