From internationally celebrated director Zhang Yimou (Ju Dou, Raise the Red Lantern, Hero, House of Flying Daggers) comes a story of love and war. Movie was slow to start but picked up momentum and was absolutely enthralling !  Very self sacrificing display of humanity!

Flowers of War

Heartbreaking, thoughtfully and realistically presented.  Two hours and twenty minutes went by quickly as story kept moving -- from beginning to end.  Quite an emotional accomplishment by this director, and a rendition of history that will make you appreciate living now instead of having tried to survive THEN.  Could only enter 5 stars -- it deserves more!

AN ABSOLUTE MUST-SEE!

This movie held your interest all the way through. 4 of us watched it together and all said it was one of the best movie we had seen in years.
