Not worth the hassle; use your stove and a blender

This sounded like a good, convenient idea but when I got the product it worked for 1 batch and then the steamer stopped working. Also, you can only steam and chop a maximum of 9ozs at a time, which is equal to only 1/2 of a sweet potato, so if you are planning on doing large batches and freezing them, this is not the product for you. I am returning mine and will just use a steamer on my stove and a blender.

I LOVED this thing! I made all my baby's food in it...for like, three months. Now, when there is food in it, it just pushes around--unless it's full--then it just makes a loud noise without chopping anything...and I've only used it for three months! I loved it when it was working. Now...I'm trying to get a hold of their customer service because I got it as a gift. I wanted it, now...I'm wondering if it is worth the hassle. Sigh....I owned it when my son was born, but he's only been on solids for like, three months.

I love this product. It is small but no smaller than any small food processor. Cuts my baby food making time in half. I would give one to anyone. My sister is pregnant right now and I may get her one. I really love it.

I purchased this baby food maker because it also had a steamer...a kind of all-in-one do-it-yourself machine. After reading reviews on several, I decided this was the best and most for the money. Turns out, it really is. I absolutely love it. It is easy to operate; does a great job (even better than my regular food processor); and it is easy to clean and maintain. I steam, puree (just don't fill the blender container to the tip top...it will leak a little if it is liquidy), and pour into silicone trays. I freeze it, pop out the cubes, and put in freezer bags...thaw out in the microwave as needed. The system works wonderfully. You're gonna love this baby food maker!!!

I'm really interested in this product, so far heard good reviews but I don't have the time to stand and press for it to steam and puree so does this processor require you to press all the time in order for it to work or does it do it on its own?

    • A. No, you press the steam button and it will steam for 15 minutes or so on its own. The light shuts off once it is finished. You do have to hold the button to puree, but that only takes seconds, depending on how thick/thin you want your food.

    • A. You only have to push the steamer until the light on the button comes on and then you do have to hold down to puree it, but that is not bad at all. Steamer is not too great though.

    • A. You have to press in order to puree, not to steam. The light will turn on when you steam, and then turn off when it's done.

I purchased this product and have used the blender for sweet potatoes but I'm trying to steam apples right now and it won't steam. I didn't have any instructions with my Baby Pro but assumed I could figure it out. Please let me know how to steam the food.

    • A. press the button on right down , hold orange light will go on. it will steam on its own and when orange light turns off, that means steaming is finished. be careful ot will be hot. transfer food along with water into blender part. for blender, you must hold button down, after removing from blender, i add in my breastmilk too. hope that helps!!

    • A. Be sure you have the water in the right place. I couldn't get mine to work the first time and that was the reason. It wont turn on if the water is not poured directly on the heating element.

    • A. You are probably putting the water in the wrong place--had the same issue myself. You need to remove all of the steamer baskets (there is one that is unmovable) and place the water on the black base. That is what heats up and steams your food.

    • A. The instructions are VERY important because it tells you to add water and how much to add for certain food (usually a couple ounces) and were to put the water. It also tells you how to clean the machine. I hope you get a set of instructions so it doesn't ruin the machine!
