In a week all ants are dead. This is the best any killer I've ever used. Tip: use scotch tape to hold this trap in place so a pet does not kick it and allow the liquid to spill out.

We had a few ants trying to get inside from our back porch. Tried the Terro bait and it worked great. They swarmed on the bait and the next day there were no ants to be found anywhere. Give it a try. My ants were little black ants and they were trying to get inside the house from outside.

The Terro (clear) fluid ant baits are the best I've ever used. But, for some reason, the ants that come into my house (Las Vegas NV) totally avoid the Indoor/Outdoor baits that have the amber color fluid. I had some of both baits, so put both out at the same time, near each other....then moved them around because the ants kept avoiding the ones with amber fluid. The ants still kept going to the ones with clear fluid. I won't buy anymore of the Indoor/Outdoor baits. The Terro Liquid Ant baits with clear fluid would get 5 stars from me.

Bought a 4 pack of the Terro: Indoor/Outdoor Liquid Baits at my local Wal-Mart in Vineland, NJ. Had a nasty infestation of ants in the bathroom and kitchen. After trying a few other products, it seemed hopeless. But with some patience and scouring the internet for a new solution, I saw a lot of people recommending Terro. I cut open and placed two traps in the bathroom and two in the kitchen in places where I had seen ants before. Read the instructions and be careful. You need to tilt the trap on its side with the red section on the bottom face up, cut the red section with scissors, and then gently place them back down where you want them. Within an hour or so ants were piling out of their hiding spots, exposing their trail, and having a block party on my counter tops. The amount of ants was a bit overwhelming and you're probably going to want to kill them when you see this, but don't. You need to be patient and let the traps do their trick. Out of curiosity, I periodically checked in to see the progress. After about 6 hours there were still a lot of ants feeding on the liquid. But (and here's my favorite part), not only were ants bringing back food to the colony to feed the queen and other ants, they were taking the dead ants back with them! I awoke the next morning to four empty traps and zero ants! This stuff rocks!

After trying a ton of other types of products and being unsuccessful, I decided upon this product. Within the first couple of hours, you could see the difference in the amount of ants moving. I was dealing with tiny redish brown sugar ants. I do not usually write reviews for a product but I was so happy with this, I had to share with others. I would recommend this to any of my friends and feel the price is excellent. I paid around $4.00 for this exact package of clear liquid bait. The product has past my expectations. I will continue to use Terro anytime I have an insect problem.

Also, do the ants track it onto everything they climb on such as the honey container, fruit, etc?

    • A. my personal experience was that the ants never ventured past the traps. once in place they went in the traps and back outside through whatever window cracks they had entered. i never saw them roaming the sink or countertops again. they didn't seem interested in my food crumbs anymore. it seemed to work in the first few days but i plan to keep the traps in place the full 3 months they recommend just to be safe!

    • A. IMO it is safe. I placed it on my Kitchen counter as well as below the sink; and by my front and back doors. Just follow directions and take care not to spill the bait liquid out of the bait trap when placing it down. Examine the counter of the trap through its clear plastic sides.

    • A. Yes, but be aware of exactly where you are putting it. It must be out of the reach of young folks. Put it in a place where nothing else will come in contact with it accidently. We use small pieces of plastic, or small pieces of cardboard, that are covered with printing. Don't use the cardboard side because it will soak into the blank, cardboard side. Use the side with printing, like the outside of an old cereal box. We only put one or two drops of the fluid on any piece if material. The ants should swarm the drop of Terro Ant killer. Let them eat to their hearts content! LET THEM EAT IT! The whole idea is that they will carry the stuff back to their nest. THAT is where the real magic happens, to kill the nest. Keep putting it out as long as they will eat it. One day, you'll notice that they are not covering the drop on the cardboard. PROBLEM SOLVED! It works GREAT for the small brown ants here in Arkansas. Not sure about other ants, in other locations other than Arkansas. They shouldn't be tracking this stuff to other places. They will find it, send for more help to bring back more of it, and take it right back to the nest. LET THEM EAT IT AND CARRY IT AWAY!

    • A. The liquid is inside the trap so it is safe to use on the counter. You cut a hole in it so the ants can get at it. I really can't answer your second question, I have never had that problem.
