The item does as it states but the only issue is you have to be in excellent shape already to get on the thing to hang. I have not been able on my on to get my leg up high enough to get on the thing. I have even tried with a chair. You better be pretty limber to begin with. It is great for pull ups but it hurts my hands since my hands are so soft and callus free. Gloves may make it better. anyway like I said my husband has to help me be able to hang on it. As i was hanging I was so scared I was going to fall on my head but didn't. I got it to help strengthen and align my back since I have back pain issues. My husband is into pro surfing (very athletic) and it took him the first time a couple of times to get his leg up this high to hang. It easy for him now. He is 6 foot 3 inches. I can see where this item would be good or beneficial for ones back but you better be in top notch shape and very flexible to get yourself on it, if not you will be by the time you ever do be able to get on it yourself. If you want something you can use immediately then get the other style inversion system you lay on and flip, it is more convenient and cheaper too just takes up more room. I will keep this item and keep trying but I can say it is not looking hopeful for me. Also maximum weight is 250 pounds for anyone interested. None of us are over 180 and like I said you better be pretty much in shape already to use it. As far as benefits for back pain I can't say since I can't get on the thing myself but if you are having sever back problems this may not be the item for you. Great for anyone looking to strengthen their arms, back and abs. You will be in shape by the time you can fling your leg up to a ceiling and pull your other leg up to hang upside down.when I say you have to fling your leg up to a ceiling it is true. The bar part you hang from goes up over the height of the door frame. Also you have to install this in a door way that has no door in it, an open normal size door way. My husband gets more benefit out of it. I will be getting me the other style eventually if I don't soon get where I can get on it myself and just let him keep this one for himself. 08/23/2012
