About this item
"Tarzan And The Trappers" is comprised of three original pilots - a rare and exciting find for Tarzan fans. Gordon Scott stars as the wild, yet kind vigilante of the jungle. In this installment, Tarzan goes up against a villain by the name of Schroeder, who is trapping animals and selling them illegally to zoos. A twist is thrown into the plot when Schroeder's brother, with the help of money-hungry trader Lapin, hunts a different kind of quarry - human game. Now Tarzan must not only fight to save the animals of the jungle - but he must also save himself. "Tarzan And The Green Goddess" - Filmed in the rainforest of Guatemala, the cast of this Tarzan installment suffered from heat, humidity, deadly animals, and unusual insects of the jungle - all for the added realism of this production. In this account, Tarzan retells the story of his adventure from the comfort of his recently recouped English manor - in perfect, unbroken English, no less. It begins with his trip to Guatemala in which the ape-man had gone to aid a friend in searching for a very valuable totem pole called the Green Goddess. Not only is the article a primitive tribes worship device, but it also houses an explosive formula. But in a treacherous twist of fate, as soon as Tarzan and his friend are able to get a hold of the Green Goddess, a dangerous henchman gets a hold of them. "Tarzan Of The Apes" - Elmo Lincoln, the first actor to play Tarzan, stars in this origination tale of how the Lord of the Jungle came to be. It is revealed that Tarzan, in actuality, is Lord Greystoke, a boy whose parents die in the jungle and who is left to fend for himself. What happens next is extraordinary. A female ape takes to mothering the orphaned boy and raises him over the course of many years until a rescue mission is finally launched and the search party combs the jungle for the long-time missing Lord Greystoke. But then, one of the search members, Jane Porter (Enid Markey) finds herself lost in the dense tangle of trees and tropical plants, coming face to face with fearsome wild animals. Tarzan saves Jane from harm just in the nick of time and love begins to blossom.
