Rated 4 out of 5★ by BuysOnlineToo Beautiful Alternative This is a very beautiful alternative to other styles of electric heaters. Although it looks like wood, it is actually ceramic, and the first one I received was damaged. WalMart was terrific, however, and shipped me a replacement as soon as I sent back the damaged model. I'm on my enclosed porch now - it is 29 degrees outside and I'm very comfortable. I think a few degrees warmer on the outside will make this heater the perfect addition to my room. Don't expect this heater to keep you warm in the dead of winter in New England, but it should surely extend your season by a month on either end. 03/13/2009
Rated 3 out of 5★ by Isa555 Not great for outdoor use. I think this lamp is a bit expensive for how little heat it actually puts out. It's not completely useless; it would probably work quite well for an ENCLOSED patio. The lamp is approved fpr outdoor use, so I bought it for my open-air patio. I live in San Diego, and have used it in weather as low as 40 degrees F. If you sit riggggggghhhhhtt next to it, it will keep you warm. If you want to sit back in your chair and relax, (more than 2ft away from the lamp) it will NOT keep you warm. It's more of a brick red in color, than brown, also...I was quite displeased with the color when the lamp arrived. It also has a small crack in the porcelin from where I absent-mindedly tightened the assembly together too tightly...so be mindful when assembling, not to over-tighten. It's just cosmetic damage that no one will ever notice, though. A great lamp for someone who has a cold ENCLOSED patio, and loves the color red...but it's pretty much a waste of a good chunk of money if you're planning on using it where there may be the slightest breeze...it just blows the warmth away. I've tucked it in the corner of my outdoor patio, and sit rigggggghhhht next to it and it keeps me happy enough, I suppose...I just wish it hadn't cost so much. :( 01/17/2012
