Rated 5 out of 5Â by rlaudig Love this phone First of all, I am not addicted to cell phones and don't live on one. But, I do use voice from time to time and text our kids and grand-kids frequently. I had a Nokia phone years ago and was pleased with it's durability and quality. I have no use for a "Smart phone" nor do I want or need data services. This Nokia X2-01 gives me the following:Excellent voice qualityEasy texting with the QWERTY keyboard - a special note here, the keys are very small, but, due to the way they are made, it is very easy to hit only the key you wish to)Excellent FM radioMP3 PlayerVideo player - videos are surprisingly goodShows jpg images and pictures look very clear. It has a camera, but the pictures are just adequate, although it has several programs with which to edit the pictures.Micro USB slotVarious programs are easily accessed without having to dive through a number of nested files.I use the FM radio daily and enjoy the ability to have it with me all the time to listen to as well asthe MP3 player for my music. I need only carry phone instead of the phone plus my Sansa player. The included ear phones work quite well and act as the FM antenna for the radio. The speaker on the phone is remarkably good quality and volume. The phone is well built and feels solid in my hand. The screen is adequate size and the resolutionis 320x240. Battery life is excellent, but note that it charges through an AC outlet only. After market charger cables are available to allow charging from a USB port for under $3.Check with the Nokia website for excellent support and download the Nokia OVI Suite to run on your computer that will connect with your X2-01. The program installs the necessary driver on your computer to allow you to update firmware and programs as well as back up files and/or synchronize the. The USB cable is not supplied.Note that although there is a web browser, you will connect at 2G speeds which are leisurely at best. You can connect to Email accounts (I have set up Gmail and Hotmail) and they work prettywell as long as you don't have large attachments. If you are seeking a versatile good quality phone, this can't be beat if you can live without speedy online service for data. At $65 it is a steal and the T-Mobile plans are great. 11/18/2011
Rated 4 out of 5Â by kkmona Nice to get a phone that doesn't have to have the data plan - additional monthly charge. Was able to use my old sim card (from the phone I dropped in water). Didn't have to add another extension or use an upgrade on my phone plan. 10/11/2011
Rated 5 out of 5Â by Bhamdude For phone calls and texting, it is a great choice! My wife's straight talk phone accidentally broke, so I decided to get her this phone. It is great. She loves the keyboard which is really good for text messaging. It comes with many ringtones that are really different and catchy. The call quality is also quite good. The camera is a low resolution one, but it still takes surprisingly good pictures. Like most Nokias, the build quality is good (although it is all plastic so a gel skin isn't a bad idea). It feels good in your hands. The only drawback that I can think of is it only gets Edge for internet. If you want to do light web-browsing or update your facebook occasionally I think it is okay for that, but it isn't really an internet device. But if you are a heavy texter that needs to make phone calls and do texts primarily than this would be a great phone for you! 09/18/2011
