Rated 5 out of 5★ by Read below for all the info you need Had to create a review for this product, if you're thinking about buying this the first thing you have to do is go to the t-mobile website and load up the coverage map and put in the addresses you are planning to use this device at, if it displays light shades of green then this might not work the best for you so beware. You want to be in a strong 4G coverage area to get good speeds.Make sure you buy the hotspot device from Walmart and not a T-Mobile store/website, or you won't get the extended 60 day use for the $35 and $50 refill cards, if you do a search on the Walmart website for "mobile broadband pass" and look at the $35/$50 T-Mobile cards you'll see in the details that the 60 day time periods are ONLY FOR DEVICES BOUGHT FROM WALMART. If you bought the hotspot from anywhere else you'll only get 30 days, T-Mobile will know where you bought it from by looking at your account and seeing the IMEI number from the device, Walmart ones have unique IMEI's.When it comes to buying the refill cards, you can either buy them directly from the Walmart website using e-mail delivery so you get it right away and then can activate the PIN sent to your e-mail whenever you'd like, or you can login to your t-mobile account and buy the pass directly from them which will activate it right away. Also, when you buy the cards they are not activated until you activate the code from it, and you can activate the code from your t-mobile account. AND YES, YOUR T-MOBILE ACCOUNT WILL AUTOMATICALLY DETECT THE IMEI NUMBER FROM THE DEVICE and will know if it's from Walmart or not, if it detects that you bought it from Walmart the $35 (60 day or 3.5GB) and $50 (60 day or 5GB) passes will automatically show up for you to purchase instead of the 30 day ones. You simply login to your t-mobile account and click on Manage then go to Passes. If you need help I'll post all the links below that will have all the info you need, hopefully they are not filtered out.http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1936http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-4829http://www.walmart.com/ip/T-Mobile-35-Prepaid-Mobile-Broadband-Pass-Email-Delivery/21191046http://www.walmart.com/ip/T-Mobile-50-Prepaid-Mobile-Broadband-Pass-Email-Delivery/21191047 02/27/2013
Rated 1 out of 5★ by T-Mobile Does Not Honor Terms T-Mobile did not give me the promised 60 day term for this pass even though I called their customer service three times in advance to ask if they would honor the WalMart terms. Three times T-Mobile assured me that I would get 60 days when I purchased and applied the WalMart pass. However, on applying the pass, they would give me only one month of service. Customer service would not make any adjustment. I recommend that customers not deal with T-Mobile as this company is not satisfactory, and to choose other carriers with higher integrity for broadband service. 11/13/2012
Rated 4 out of 5★ by Buy this, but be careful! (dealing with T-mobile) This turned out to be a difficult purchase. 1st purchased the device and refill pass from Walmart online, everything went great! (December 2012). In January decided to get another refill pass ahead of time, purchase wouldn't go through, never found out why. (Tried twice). Then last week was running out of time, tried again and got the $35 pass emailed. HERE IS WHERE YOU MUST BE CAREFUL! The e-mail will give you a phone number to call to redeem the pass. DO NOT call this number. If you do T-mobile will credit your account with $35, then because your pass has expired charge you per megabyte. I had to add $10 to the T-mobile account ($10.60 with tax) to be able to purchase a 60-day 3.5 megabyte from T-moblile.Make sure you have a My T-Mobile account set up, buy your pass from Walmart.com and redeem it online. On the plus side, I learned that you get up to 364 days without a pass before your account (and device!) become extinct. 02/07/2013
Rated 1 out of 5★ by Did not receive 60 days in which to use I paid for 60 days 3.5 gig of mobile data and got 30 days of 3.5 gig of mobile data. the service map shows 3g service in my area and it is G or sometime E which is about 1/3 of the speed of dial up. I requested a refund and was told I would be refunded. 09/21/2012
Rated 2 out of 5★ by not worth the money if u live in a metropolitan area with real good signal strength it probably works good but in the outskirts go with something else. 10/27/2012
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Works great, unbeatable price This is a 2 month pass so you're basically getting internet for $17.50 a month. Just don't watch streaming videos and you won't go over your 3.5g; and if you do, no big deal just go out and buy another one and your 2 months resets. This surprisingly worked in a rural MN location very well (faster than their satellite internet). I'm tempted to stock up on these unless consumers don't wise up to this deal and they take it off the market! 11/20/2012
Rated 2 out of 5★ by Something's up with this pass...don't get it. I've been getting this pass for the last 8 months or so with no problems (through the myTmobile website, since it was instantly applied) - it was good for the for the 60 days since I bought my hotspot through Walmart, and it was the stated $35. No issues. Then I ran out of data, and had turned off auto-renew. When I tried to buy the pass, I found that the TMobile site has been down for almost 6 weeks now; the replacement site lists this $35 card as an option, but will not allow me to purchase it. Trying to purchase from Walmart resulted in repeated errors, due to an error in "processing payment" (using the same information I used to buy the device in the first place, so I don't know what's up with that). The Tmobile customer service reps do not have this option available either. I was able to purchase a 60-day 5gb card for $50, but this was the only 60 day option. It's only an extra $7.50 a month for more data, but just BEWARE before you decide this is for you - rumor has it that they've done away with this option and you will only be able to buy a more expensive card, or a cheaper one that's not good for as long or that has as much data.BUYER BEWARE!!! 11/25/2013
Rated 4 out of 5★ by T-Mobile Changed Pre-Paid Plan T-Mobile recently changed its costs and delivery.Previously, if you did not purchase the Hotspot from Walmart, a $35 pass provided 3.5 GB of high speed data usage and a $50 pass provided 5 GB of high speed data usage to be used within 30 days. After you used up the purchased data, the service was unavailable to you until activation of a new pass. T-Mobile's new "On Demand" pass cost structure is $30 for 2.5 GB of data for those not using a Hotspot purchased from Walmart. Previously, on these 2 passes, it was $10 per GB, now it is $12 per GB and at this time the 2.5 GB/$30 pass is the largest available for what is newly categorized as an "On Demand" pass ~ there no longer is a 5 GB On Demand pass. However, the new costing system provides "unlimited data". This means service remains available after exhausting the high speed 2.5 GB, however, the speed reduces from high speed to 2 G.As T-Mobile initiated an "On Demand" pass category (also includes 500 MB/1 Day/$10 and 1 GB/7 Day/$15), they have created a category for 30 Day Auto Renew Monthly Passes. 30 day access pricings in this category are 500MB/$20, 2.5GB/$30, 4.5GB/$40, 6.5GB/$50, 8.5GB/$60, 10.5GB/$70, and 12.5GB/$80. Review http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-plansT-Mobile's CS stated the 3.5 GB $35 pass only provides 3.5 GB to users of a Hotspot purchased from Walmart (and I expect for the 60 day period). I've no information on how T-Mobile's new pricing structure will eventually effect the pricing of passes for those who've purchased their Hotspot from Walmart. For the best speed, I have the 4LTE Hotspot which was not sold by Walmart. Purchasing my passes from Walmart provided me with credit card bonus points. Today, I activated a 3.5 GB 30 day pass purchased from Walmart and T-Mobile applied $30 for 2.5 GB of data and a $5 credit into my account for use on my next T-Mobile transaction. My Concerns:Will Walmart sell new T-Mobile passes for those not using a Hotspot purchased from Walmart? The On Demand pass is not subject to government taxes. Is T-Mobile's Auto Renew Monthly Pass subject to government taxes (currently more than 20% for cellular in Illinois)?Cost analysis in receiving more GB/$ in the monthly auto renewal and paying a higher cost for an On Demand pass when additional high speed is needed vs. the flexibility with staying with On Demand only and activating an affordable On Demand pass as necessary. 11/16/2013
