Great DVD player, and a great price! I purchased this DVD player for my 4 year old to use on a road trip over the holidays. Its the perfect size for her and she loves it. The first few nights, she insisted on watching it in the house, instead of regular television! My only complaint is the volume, because it does not get very loud. I thought purchasing head phones would quiet surrounding noise and make it easier for her to hear over the road noise and people talking in the car. Wrong. After buying two different headphone sets, we realized the headphone outlet actually makes the volume so low you can barely hear it at all. 12/31/2011
Worked for one day I'm an early Christmas shopper, and I purchased this item in September for my daughter. When she opened the gift, it worked for only one day. After that, the power light would go on, but the screen displayed nothing. Since I had purchased it more than 90 days before, the folks at Sylvania told me they would look at it for me, but it would cost me $44. I was disappointed with both the quality of the product and the poor customer service. I have since bought a Sony, which was more expensive, but has given me no problems. 01/08/2012

If you purchase this DVD, be sure to spend the extra $3 to get the extended warranty. My Mom purchased this DVD during cyber week 2011. My son received this as a Christmas present. The first month, we were really happy with this product. The picture and sound was very clear. The second month, the battery would not hold a charge. I contacted the company Sylvania. The Sylvania operator told me I would need to ship the item to them and pay the $7 postage and also pay the $7 return postage to myself once the item is fixed. The Sylvania operator also told me that they would not cover labor, just parts. I explained how we had this DVD less than 60 days and it was not worth my time or money to go through this hassle. The operators response was there was nothing further he could do. It is clearly stated in their warranty what the company will and will not cover. I WILL NEVER ORDER A SYLVANIA PRODUCT AGAIN!! After many calls, I was finally directed to a Walmart Warranty operator who was able to help me. Because my Mom was smart and bought the extended warranty for $3, I was able to return this item and Walmart issued me a refund for the product plus tax. I do not want a product that will only last 60 days or less – who does? I am going to put this refund money towards a Phillips. Hopefully, I will have better luck with the Phillips. 02/17/2012
