Swing-n-Slide Scout Custom DIY Play Set Hardware Kit - Project 145 1 1
Great weekend project, great swingset! I bought the "Scout" kit. When it arrived it was missing the hardware pack. UGGGHHH it figures right? Well I called them up and they sent one out free, arrived in two days. No big deal. Once it was all done this swingset is pretty awesome! It's solid as a rock, no anchors needed. I'm 210lbs and could swing no problem on it!I spent $85 on the lumber. Forget what they say about nails. 2-3lbs of nails?!?! You literally only need three-dozen 3" wood/deck screws.There are exactly three wood cuts involved, everything else is left at lumberyard size.I spent one day getting all the wood ready and applying two coats of deck sealer.Few days later when dried, I spent maybe 4 hours putting it all together by myself. You will need a 2nd set of hands for a few moments. My 120lb wife was more than enough help.Make sure you predrill all your holes or you will split the wood for sure, especially the 4x4s!!!This thing is HEAVVVYYY to move so assemble it in the area you want to keep it of course. 04/07/2010
