Rated 5 out of 5★ by Neil Great product - great support I was looking for a CCTV system to protect my home-based business.Being a novice I shopped around, did some research and decided on the DVR4000 system with four cameras.First impression on receiving the item was how carefully it had been packed. Second impression, a very comprehensive instruction manual written in plain English, with a little humour added.Installation is reasonably straightforward, the main challenge being routing cables so that they are both tidy and unobtrusive. Designed my own "coathanger wire" hook for threading cables through holes drilled in the wall, and this proved very effective.Having made the physical installation, it was time for the IT side. I had located the recorder in an upstairs room and connected it to the TV there. As this was a distance from my router, I invested in a couple of powerline ethernet adaptors. You simply plug one into the mains near your router and attach an ethernet cable, then plug in another near the unit with another cable attached to the recorder. Bingo.At this stage I felt a little overwhelmed by the IP set-up, so called the helpline. David was was very helpful, spending over 40 mins to set up my PC by remote access, also my iPhone and laptop too. Another nice by-product is that my daughter who is at University can see our home and her ponies when she wantsThe net result now is that I now have a cost-effective home security system that I can access remotely. I still have the challenge that I am getting too many false alarms, but seem to be reducing these with a little adjustment to settingsI'm extremely pleased with my purchase, and the service from Swann, which is possibly the best aftercare support I have ever received from any supplier. I can't think of anything negative in my experience with them, and they frequently exceeded my expectations. I should mention that as a professional trainer I believe in giving honest feedback. If it was bad, I would have said so.I would also say that this is a product that you need to be a little patient with to get the best out of it. The Swann support people are there to help you through the challenges, but if you stick with it I believe that you will be very pleased with the result, and make a great saving over a professionally installed system 01/16/2013

It is very easy to set up even for a dummy like me.If your not sure of anything Swann have 24 hour telephone or email support.You couldn't ask for better service.If you get stuck just ask support to take over your computer and help you out.Yes they can even do that for you and all of this is free.Swann go out of there way to make sure there products perform as they say they will.The cameras are beautiful and clear.You can access them all from your smartphone and another computer say at a friends place or the library.So you can buy this and any Swann unit/camera etc with complete peace of mind.If you would like to even see a shot of what the cameras take day or night just email email@example.com and i will be more than happy to show you.Good value for money and excellent service.Well done Swann. 03/31/2013
