This solar module is no longer manufactured and none of my solar wholesalers could get one; and I needed 2. Walmart.com was the only Googled company that claimed they had them in stock. They were a little expensive since it is a retail price I had to pay but they delivered it to my local Walmart and they were exactly like the ones I was replacing so the 2 modules matched the other 4 that were still on the roof after the thieves had left.

    • A. First things first! There are many variables to consider while building a Solar System. Things needed are: Solar Panels, Power Regulator, Battery bank, and an Inverter. Solar panels are connected to a power regulator that is then connected to the battery bank and then connected to an inverter turning DC to AC. You said 1500watts, so i am assuming 1500watts AC. Power inverters are about 85% +/- Efficient for converting watts being put in into watts being used or needed from DC to AC. You also have to consider the amperage the inverter uses at idle with nothing plugged in. Just the inverter being on uses power, but not alot, just some. Lets say you want to run 1500 watts at full (make sure inverter says 1500 continuous power, not max peak power of 1500 watts), that would be 12v=1500W/%85=1764 watts in DC needed to run an hour. Convert watts into amps needed will be: 1764 watts/12volts=147 Amps per hour needed to run a 1500 watt inverter about. Depending on how long you will be using it for, will depend how much battery power in amp hours are needed. say you want to use it for 12 hours of the day in case the power went out for 12 hours. You want 12 hours of power running 147 amps and hour. that brings up 1764 Amps needed: 147Amps X 12hours=1764 Amp hours. You need a battery bank to last that long so, x10 6v 440 Amp hours deep cycle batteries will do the trick. It will be more Amps in the batteries than the needed amps, but the inverter will only use the amps needed. More amps wont hurt, it will just provide a little more running time as long as the voltage is within the range which we said would be 12volts. here is how many solar panels and batteries are needed to run: x10 6v deep cycles 440ah (Know how to connect batteries to get 12volts and amperage needed) x1 power regulator for not overcharging batteries, with efficient power input for the 21.8volt panels to 12v DC anywhere from 12v to 14.7volts is fine. x1 1500 "CONTINUOUS" watt power inverter not max peak. max peak will be higher with a 1500 continuous watt inverter. Depending on what will be used "continuously" will depend on what inverter to get. and last! solar panels. How long you want the battery bank to take to charge, will depend on how many solar panels to use. These solar panels above are 123 watt, 7.5Amp, 21.8v panels. The power regulator with a combination of a power converter will establish the needed voltage while keeping the same amperage or watts depending on the converter. Keeping the same watts is better than keeping the same amps because keeping the same watts converting down to 14.7volts will increase the amperage, which we need. So how many day you want to take to have the batteries charge will depend how many panels. I can give you a straight answer if you can provide how much continous power you will be using, for how long you will be using it, and how long you want it to take to charge. Sorry for the long explanation.
