Large enough to hold two 96 gallon garbage containers, the Suncast Toter trash can shed model BMS4700 has a stay dry design, Hank. With overlapping panels, overhanging roof, and ramp entry, it is designed to shed rain, hail, and weather. Though neither air tight nor waterproof, humidity can seep through seams and under the lid, but under normal circumstances, the contents should remain as dry as most other Suncast sheds of similar design. We have the shed outside and it rained a lot lately. We checked the boxes inside and everything was dry.

Suncast storage buildings and garden sheds, Stephanie, have all been engineered to have a floor strong enough to hold typical lawn equipment such as lawn mowers, riding mowers, garden tractors and snow blowers. The reinforced floor of the BMS4700 is made of high density poly ethylene with UV and colorant added.
It is important that the load is evenly distributed. Adding support such as one-quarter inch or three-eighths inch plywood to help distribute weight will allow heavier items to be stored. Other conditions such as foundation and weight distribution can affect the floor loading capacity.

It's a plastic material, but very sturdy. You could always line the floor with plywood etc.

Absolutely you can. There is a latch/handle attached to the roof that comes down over the top of the doors and all you have to do is put a lock through the hole to secure the top from being opened.

Trash/Recycle Shed

We use this at our church for trash storage until pickup. It is very sturdily made and should last us a long time. It's a little bit bigger than I thought but that is more my mind trying to picture size than the product! I would absolutely recommend this product. Perfect for hiding my 2 trash bins outside. We watched a video before assembling, it was a lot easier to watch. Instructions were ok but the video helped a lot. Very sturdy, worth the price. We highly recommend it.

Perfect!

I was impressed with how well engineered the shed is, with a lot of strength and not much weight. Metal reinforcements in just the right places give it just enough rigidity. It took longer than expected to assemble, maybe 3 1/2 hours working slowly. Roughly 100 screws - you better have an electric screwdriver/drill. Use a 7/16 combination wrench, not the crescent shown in the instructions. Also needed the rubber mallet. I ended up having to take pieces off and reassemble a couple times because the illustration was not clear enough even with a lot of "some assembly required" experience. At $300 it is a really good value; just be sure you are up to the time required to put it together.

Well designed, assembly not so easy

Does what its supposed to do. Just a few pointers to others doing research. Ensure you have the correct size for your bins. This holds two large 96 gallon bins side by side. Note that the form of the smaller 65 bins are similar so seeing a picture for an alternate product can be misleading. This shed requires a flat platform and suggests you cast a concrete pad or build a wood platform. I have level ground and used sand and concrete pavers to get the job done. Assembly is easiest with two people, my son helped me. Directions are fair but pay attention to the number and location of screws, there are a few steps that require you to leave some holes empty until a future step but that is not spelled out too clear. It makes sense when you get there, but I did have to back off screws on two occasions and re-adjust. Happy with the product and the results. Looks tidy.
