I do not like the way the opening part of the lid sounds like it is going to break and the whole top lid does not seal well. Afraid to use with any kind of food unless sealed food or objects. Not like the shape. I may be taking it back to the store and afraid to order anything online that I cannot see before.

I have had 2 of these since 1998 an love them. They both still work as they did new. These containers stack with or without the lids an still useable. I decided I needed to find 4 more for storage. I looked everywhere an finally after looking through several pages on Walmart site I found them. They didn't show up on the simple search you had to go through pages of products to find them. The same ones on Amazon are dramatically more. I am so happy they still had them available. I know after organizing if I need more where to find them.

It works perfect for me. This product is not air tight because it has a small gap where it closes. It is kind of noisy when I open it but I got used to it. A 50lb bag of dog food fits perfectly in this container.

I read the reviews before I ordered it and was concerned about the "noisy" lid. Yes it does make a noise when you open it, but it's not that bad. I store my food indoors in my laundry room, fits where I wanted to put it and keeps the food fresh. I have a great dane pup and an older pitt so I go through 50# of dog food fairly fast. This fits where I wanted it, so it's out of the way and holds with room to spare a 50# bag of food.

  • A. It is a secure lid. It has a built in flap so I wouldn't think it was air tight.

  • A. No. Lid doesn't lock on the top very well. If you bump the lid it comes off. If you are worried about pests you will want a different container. This one is more for not having a mess. I use it to keep dog food in my garage. I don't have pests but was tired of my kids ripping the bag and making a mess in the garage so this fixed that problem.

  • A. No, the lids hold tight on the back, but at the hinges there is a slight gap that I fixed by putting plastic on the underside (inside). I purchased 4 & 1 lid doesn't close properly in the front, I'm sure I could get it replaced but it's not an issue for me. It's an extra I got for keeping supplements & whatnot in.
