    Tape is the key

    Customer review by Brunhilde

    5.0 stars by Brunhilde

I am 75 years old and just put this tool shed together by myself. It did take me about 2 hours, not because it is so difficult, no, but because I could not find the two pieces marked K. But I did find two unmarked pieces that didn't seam to fit anywhere else so I tried those two. A perfect fit. And then I came to the roof, which was a moving experience. If I got it in one corner, it didn't fit the other three. The answer was my reliable tape. Taped the corners together and the roof fit.

    Very Pleased

I'm very please with my small shed. I'm a 65 year old female and I put it together in a couple of hours by myself. It took me longer to read the instructions than the actual assembly. But I could not have done it without a rubber mallet. I stacked 5 plastic milk crates and ziptied them together and set them inside the shed. It's wonderful. I have all the shelves I need AND room for my numerous long-handled garden tools. I set it in the middle of the yard against the fence. There was a hard rain and strong wind that first night, didn’t fall over and everything stayed dry inside.

This shed is perfect! I screwed it to the wall as it will tip over in the wind. It has a "lock" at the bottom to keep the kids from opening the doors easily and even have a place for a lock in the handles. Stores all my stuff nicely and so far has been very water proof!

    • Yes. All the parts are equally thick and sturdy.

    • YES! I wouldn't stand and jump in it all the time but for our outside storage like rakes, brooms, a two wheeler garden, small mower, and soil it is quite sturdy.

    • Unit does come with a floor and it is very sturdy.

    • Yes -- it has a molded plastic floor. I'd say sturdy enough to set on the ground, and support fishing equipment, skis, typical outdoor stuff, but if you were to fill the shed with heavy things like automotive parts or chemicals.

    • Yes, has a floor strong enough to hold my 165 pounds. Needs to be placed on a flat and level surface. I personally recommend a concrete surface.

    • yes and very sturdy. Was surprised that this thing is really built quite strong for being as light weight as it is. The floor is very, very durable.

    • Yes there is a floor. I have had 200 pounds on it without it bending so I would think it is sturdy enough for most things.

    • Yes, this Suncast Shed comes complete with a floor. The floor (like the rest of the shed) is made from a quality resin that is weather and impact resistant. Also, make sure that the ground is level and stable. Fasten the shed to the ground as described in the instructions.

I want to take this up to our campsite and will be putting it outside our camper so of course I can't attach it to the travel trailer. It gets pretty windy sometimes and I was wondering if there is a way to stake it into the ground. If not maybe could you possiby use bungy type cords to attach it to a travel trailer. I would need to bring it home when hunting season is over. Thanks for any suggestions.

    • We store ours outside and my husband went to Ace Hardware and bought four iron stakes (nails) and inserted them into the ground and we have had no problem. There are predrilled holes in the cabinet floor so one can insert the stakes. He also made sure it was level. l

    • There are four spots provided on the floor for driving nails through, one on each corner. Perhaps you can use long stakes instead. The whole thing will blow over easily if there isn't anything heavy stored inside to keep it down.

    • Put a sand bag inside it and it should stand up against light to medium winds. It is very light weight so that's why I attached it to my wooden fence.

    • here is a suggestion if you want to be able to use for longer periods then transport. Buy a piece of 4 x 8, cut it length wise so it sits about two inches wider from each side (when shed is fully constructed). Drill holes large enough and evenly spaced enough to accommodate (bungees or tie downs you want to use) (I would also cut height so it was just short of roof height.) Use the screw holes identified in the shed for 16" oc to secure the back panel to your wood (for duration of use, with washers/nuts and small bolts). Keep back panel secured to wood for transport, and layer the walls doors, and roof and floor pieces on top (use your tie downs to secure all pieces together). It's narrow enough that you may be able to secure it to your trailers ladder for transport. Then re-assemble when needed. This may solve your stability problem as well as keep the long plastic pieces in good shape for transport and re-construction.

    • I put a concrete block inside to make it stable

    • Instructions say you can "secure it to the ground by drilling 7/16" holes through the four provided round recessed areas in each of the four corners and then inserting 12" nails in the base and into the ground." Sounds pretty secure, but it may be difficult to pull the nails out when you want to move it.

    • I do not have this storage unit.. but I had this thought. If it gets that windy, why couldn't you put the heaviest stuff in it, then tie it to a tree? Bungie cords, I think, would surely work plus rope too ... good luck .. with the shed & your hunting !
