Lara I purchased this iron for basic ironing - didn't need anthing fancy. Thought the steam feature would be an added bonus. I took the iron out of the box and filled the water container to just below capacity, as directed in the instructions. When I tried to use the steam, water dropped out everywhere. Tried to drain the water out in the sink and the water went everywhere - from the bottom of the iron. Totally useless iron! Also, the digital heat control on the item is placed in the WORST place it could be. It is located where you grab on to the iron, so when you grab the iron, your hand always presses the control to turn the heat up higher. What an awful iron. I'm returning it and getting something else. I just wanted a basic iron. What a nightmare! 01/12/2012
Horrible Iron This is the worst iron I've ever had. The digital heat setting is right where you hold the iron so it keeps changing the settings. Also, the iron shuts off when you are ironing back and forth. I must have read the wrong review before I purchased this and will be returning it for a different brand. 04/20/2012
Sub average iron because. . . . . This is my second time purchasing this iron in two months. Both times I encountered the same problem after a few weeks of use. The soleplate lost its non-stick properties. Bought another iron and conducted a controlled experiment over the course of three weeks and the non-Sunbeam iron still glides across clothing but the Sunbeam sticks to the families clothing. I do not know if this is a quality control issue but it is the only issue i have with the iron. I consider it to be a major issue. 05/20/2012
Not enough handle space. This steam iron is excellent in every way, except that large digital display takes away a lot of handle space. Due to this, the [ - ] and [ + ] buttons get pressed inadvertently. But overall a good product. 02/01/2012
