It's electric. Very powerful, blade lasts a very long time.

No, this is strictly electric, so you don't have to worry about the battery loosing it's charge in the middle of your work.

I also have an electric lawn mower, and I use the same cord for each (110 feet).  No problems at all.

I guess it could but the Sun Joe trimmer I bought kept stopping when it came into contact with anything solid. And the first time I used it one side of the blade broke off. Replacement blades are $13-$14 each. AND the first time I used the Sun Joe trimmer is started smoking and quit running. It burned up.

No I used it against my wooden fence and its fine

If the hard plastic blades come in contact with the wood damage could occur.

It has a retractable metal guide that shows the extent of the blade so it is unlikely that you will hit a fence with any force. Also this unit is not that powerful so if you do hit the fence it will just stop.

I've only used mine once and the blade is about 20 percent used. One end more than the other, so I might of hit something sharp and cut a chunk out. Not really sure what happen, but a backup blade might be a good idea.

I completed my whole yard which had overgrowth and in my flowered cut just like a lawnmower and when I cleaned it and took off the blade you couldn't tell it had been used. I guess it depends on how hard use it and on what. It comes with two blades and I purchased an extra one just in case but I think one blade would last a month or more if not cutting down thick brush. Just unscrew to replace the blade in just a few moments then back to work. Easy!

Haven't had to replace it, but I bought an extra one to keep on hand, just like a string trimmer.

I use mine weekly and have not seen any waer on the blade. It all depends on what you are using it for. I am sure if you are cutting heavy weeds or brush, you will have to replace the blade more often.
One month and still going strong.

On the 1st use the tips of the blade broke off!  One tip hit the raised area of concrete and broke off, the other side/tip dug into the dirt (had the trimmer tilted to one side) and that tip broke off.  It still trims okay.  I would definitely buy extra blades.

FINALLY - an electric grass trimmer with a blade that doesn't break and frustrate the user! My wife likes to do the trimming, and, at 80 years old and after several strokes does not have the strength to constantly remove the cap and feed the string from the spool through the head after it has broken and the automatic feed won't work. This is a godsend. We have bought and set aside in the past two months a Black & Decker, a WORX, a Weed Eater, and before that I don't remember how many others.

WOW this trimmer was such a GOOD surprise. Lightweight and easy to operate. I'm a 64 yr. old woman and so far all the sun joe products have been a blesing to me. But don't be fooled as this trimmer has power and the blade is so much better than string trimmers. Thanks Sun Joe❣

I use it for weeds, trimming, etc. Be careful, like all garden tools, when used around hard surfaces and rocks. The blade is surprisingly strong and will last a while if not abused. If it hits an immovable object, it will stop, thereby protecting the blade. Do not cut branches with it. Use a saw.

Light weight and good for intended use

Bargain for the price and it's great not having to deal with twine.
I have a huge yard and the included blade lasted me 1 1/2 years. That's pretty amazing.
Blade is cheap to replace when you need a new one.
Very powerful, will cut through pretty much anything 1/2 inch and under.

Extremely Powerful Trimmer.

I was so tired of the string weed eaters so I went on a hunt to find one that did not take string - After looking at several that I felt were just to big and heavy (& looked dangerous) I found this one and purchased it. Got it home was easy to put together, not to heavy and it works great!!! I am so happy I found this!! I would recommend this product to anyone.

Great no more string!!

This is my 2nd trimmer, have used the first for several years and really like it. But after much use the shaft is getting loose at the cutter end. I'm still useing the first one but bought the 2nd one for backup. Never did like the string cutters, this blade works much better.

This is amazing! String weed eaters are a pain. I have three barely used ones that aim giving away. The stress of stop and replace the string was tiresome and didn't enjoyed it. Rather pull weeds up by hand then to use a string weed eater again! But now with is this weed eater its a breeze. Having medical issues and able to carry something for long periods of time, this thing is easy to use ,clean ,carry and operate. Wish I knew this was available sooner would have saved me money ,time and no stress.

Easy to assemble and go and clean up is easy. I take the blade off clean it and only put it back on when aim ready to use it. I highly recommend this item and wish Walmart would carry these in the stores for all of those like myself that dislike string weed eaters!

Amazing! ladies this weedeater is great!

Easy to assemble and use. I was surprised to find out that the shaft has a telescoping feature, and can be adjusted easily to what ever length feels comfortable for you. I prefer electric over gas models, since I use it for long periods of time when I do my weeding. The blade seems to be very durable, and had no damage after I used it for an hour, and did come in contact with some hard surfaces. So far I am very pleased with it after my first use of it. I would recommend this trimmer to anyone.

Very nice trimmer

This trimmer is so light it is a joy to use. The electric motor has plenty of power to drive the plastic blade; it did a great job cutting through blackberry brambles with canes as big around as my thumb. The only drawback that I found is that the large guard snaps into place on the head a bit loosely and can be bumped off; it needs some kind of retainer.

A little flimsy but does the job

I was so excited about getting a stringless weedeater. When it arrived, it was easy to assemble. However, using it was horrible!!!! It doesn't do a very good job at all. It doesn't look manicured like it normally would after weedeating. And the blade cuts through the black protector !!!! The first time using it. My first time will be the last time using it. I would rather deal with a string. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. If you pay $5 for it , you paid way too much!!!!
This is my first time writing a negative review on a product. But if it saves someone else from making the same mistake....mission accomplished.
I guess if you can only buy something online, and it's not in stores, it might be a huge red flag!!!
