I noticed a lot of review complained about scratches upon arrival of their kayak, so I first wanted to comment about that. Not only did it arrive in 6 days (instead of the two weeks that was given as the expected delivery time), but we also received a phone call from the guy driving the delivery truck verifying our address and asked if someone would be home or if there was a certain place we wanted them left if no one was home... which was nice so there wasn't anything unexpected. When he showed up to deliver the kayaks, he carried all three that we ordered to where we planned to store them. We inspected each one as he unloaded it. They arrived in thick plastic bags, and after cutting each bag off, there was no sign of damage on any of them. The coloring is a little different than the picture shows. They're not quite that bright of a green, but we're actually happier with the green shade that they are. They're a dark army green. The paddle that comes with it is perfect, there's no need to worry about purchasing a different paddle that claims to be better or more efficient. Our purpose for these specific kayaks was just to use on a lake for fishing or to use on a river. It's worked perfectly for both. They're comfortable, the foot peg adjustment levers are easy to maneuver and set for your leg length, the fishing pole holders work great, and the swiveling fishing pole holder hasn't failed us yet. They're heavy enough to feel sturdy and safe while in the water, but light enough to get to the water without a lot of strain. We use ours a couple times a week and they still look like new. My husband's only complaint is that the storage bin in the back isn't big enough for the gear he would like to take on the lake with him, but he made a quick resolve by putting it down below his feet and still had more than enough room for his legs without any discomfort or clutter (he's 6' tall). Instead, we remove the lid from the storage bin and our little Chihuahua's have their own seat to join us on the lake or river. This would work great for any beginner or intermediate user. The third one we purchased was for our 14 year old son who had never kayaked before, and he jumped right in and maneuvered it with ease. Overall, great purchase, and $100 cheaper than we could find anywhere else (and I take pride in my bargain shopping before making a purchase). You really just can't go wrong with this one. I attached a photo of my husband sitting in his on the lake after a long day of paddling.

I bought two of these expecting them not to come with paddles but they did so now I have extras. Hopefully they will update the discription to state that it does come with a paddle. This was my first kayak and it's easy to use and stable in the water. The storage space in the rear could be larger but overal a very nice kayak for the price.

I'm 6'0", 210 pounds, and I am very comfortable fishing in this kayak. For the price, my expectations were low, but I wouldn't change a thing. I've done a bit of whitewater kayaking in the past, and was miserable in them, but this is nothing like that. I can sit upright with great lower back support, or lay back like a recliner with my feet on the bow waiting for fish to bite. Paddle holder on the side is quick and convenient when a fish bites. The first thing I did was install a fishfinder with the display in the front (perfect flat spot), the battery in the dry well in back (in a dry bag), and the transducer on the floor just in front of the seat. Looks and works like it was made that way. Unless you're going out on the open ocean or need some super fancy bells and whistles, I'd highly recommend this kayak. And I can't imagine how paying hundreds of dollars MORE for it would make me like it more.

Bought it to replace my super old beat up kayak, off the back I was blown away! Free bonus paddle, had two recessed fishing pole pockets, and one rotating fishing pole holder! I'm 250lbs I meet the weight limit but I can tell you this thing can handle much more! very stable especially in wind with me being 250lbs and 6' 1''. Definitely a comfortable seat, foot pegs adjust even for my long legs, I could fall asleep in it! Only thing I suggest is if your tall like me, buy a longer paddle, and for everyone I suggest getting either sports tape or paddle foam pads so you hands wont be blistered.

This kayak has no bottom seat fixture at all other than a raised molded plastic area that is sort of part of the boat...it has no seat as such.....of course the picture doesnt show that, neither does it show the correct color.....although Im happy with the color which is olive drab military looking color,(not the bright green shown in the pic), I wasnt happy about it not having a "deluxe adjustable seat" as described.....--as far as the yak, its my first one and Ive never really been in one, so I have nothing to compare it to other than I think its great for the money and it is a nice size cockpit and seems to track straight and paddle easy.....mine also came with a paddle....the storage area is rather small and hard to get to while your in the boat...but I got mine for 299.00 plus tax, so Im happy with it.....I saw this same kayak for sale on Amazon.com for 852.00 at one point, and most of the time its over 430.00

    • A. Yes. The front rod holder is delivered in the storage compartment for installation as needed. The front rod holder attaches in a crevice that that is flush with the boat. The crevice has a cover to protect it when the rod holder isn't installed. Once installed, the rod holder can be rotated 360 degrees to any position. The boat also has two rear rod holders that are simply creviced holes for inserting auxiliary rods.
