I love this gate. It has easy accessiblity to the children, yet the children can't push it over or open the gate themselves. I do daycare and it works excellent for my infants and toddlers when we go outside. I would strongly reccommend this product.

Our grandchildren( ages 2 1/2, 15 months, and 10 months), along with our 6 month old son loved taking the electronics equipment, videos and games off the shelves that were housed under our big screen television. We placed all of the equipment behind the safety gate and blocked it all off, out of reach. We then placed toys in front of the security gate. The children seem to have forgotten that the equipment is even there. It also keeps them a safe distance from the television so they can't pull it down on top of them.

Best to buy extention kit with it to make a big enough play area that baby can still practice crawling. I have a 9mo old boy, and it's nice to know where he is when I have to do some quick housework. Gate is very useful and saves the back.

it has a door but does it lock to keep small children in?

    • A. It has a gate that clicks on top to close and to open it you have to push 2 buttons together, so it can contain small children.

    • A. Yes! I strongly believe that it would be very difficult for little fingers to get the door open because of the double-button system they have on it!

    • A. Yes, the door does lock. There is a button on each side of the handle that you need to push in together in order to unlock it.

    • A. It depends on the age. my 4 year old took aobut 2 seconds to figure it out, but it has buttons on both sides of the latch that you have to push so like a 2 or 3 year old might not be able to do it.

    • A. Yes the door locks at the top and you have to depress two buttons at the same time to open it. Easy for adult - impossible for baby!

    • A. The gate/door panel has a piece at the bottom that fits into a slot on the adjacent panel. At the top of the gate/door is a locking mechanism that has to be pushed in on both sides to lock or unlock it. The locking mechanism similarly fits into the adjacent panel.

    • A. I have coated metal outside to safeguard pool area. It is up 24/7 -all year long. I prefer plastic for indoors because it won't scratch my hardwood floors and it's lighter, quieter & doesn't scare my older dog. Metal overtime will start to rust, unless aluminum. Indoor for sure you want plastic. For temporary uses - definitely plastic for outdoor as well.
