Onboard Ethernet went out on my motherboard. This was a quick, cheap replacement for it. Plug in, update drivers and it was good to go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GeekyLady Great Value, Great Product
Replaced old slow LAN on my ancient Dell. Comes with Driver CD but no instructions, leaves you to figure out what driver it is. You will find it in the ExpressCard\RTL81XXX\WINXP folder. Downloads and updates are so much faster now with this product.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Smit3526 Didn't Work with Linux
I bought these to put into my Astaro Security Gateway. It's based off of the Linux distribution IPCop. They did not work.
Im sure they would be just fine in any other situation. Great deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lottonut I was in a toss up to either buy two of these for networking or a USB crossover cable. As I also wanted to be able to control the other P.C. I went this route & Glad I did. It’s excellent, just not as fast as a USB crossover connection for file sharing. It also doesn’t require a Ethernet crossover cable.
