Stansport 6 pc Cast Iron Set

Customer review by LiMarie58

5.0 stars by LiMarie58

I just love cast iron! Nothing cooks like it! If you don't mind heavy & sturdy cookware this is the best! This set comes pre-seasoned but I still did my tried and true method of seasoning. It beats Teflon hands down! I have used each piece of the set and am not disappointed at all! I can't wait for the weather to get cooler so I can use the dutch oven for stew and chili!

The Cookware Set was very reasonably priced, easy to use and produced a fabulous product. I can use it on top of the stove and the oven.

left the burner on the stove with the pan on the burner with nothing in the pan

  • yes you can reseason it yourself. Wash the pan in warm soapy water, then put on stove top to dry, warm up to two hundred degrees, coat both sides with a light coat of vegetable oil, put upside down in 400 degree oven for two hours. May smoke a little.this works well for me you can also use a outside grill with a lid 400 hundred two hours

  • You should be able to use vegatable oil to reseason your pan! Clean pan with steel wool dry completely then put oil on cloth or paper towel and wipe the inside with the oil.

  • I'm thinking no. I tried to re-season mine. Didn't work. Coat with corn oil or crisco, put them in the stove, everything upside down and cook @ 450 degrees for 1 hr. But that's with real cast iron.

  • well, if you think they are already ruined as long as there are no cracks, re-season them with oil on both sides, leave in oven on high for an hour, turn off, and let sit in oven until next morning when they should be totally cool.....try cooking on range at medium/low temperature setting to build up heat, then fry eggs or whatever you prefer.....taste and then you'll know if pans are still working........
