Stainless Steel Canister with Glass Lid 3.8 5 4 4
Excellent Canister for Dry Ingredients!!! I was so thrilled to find this container upon arriving to the store that I had to get online and right a review. I'm a 23-year-old amateur baker that just recently started a little at-home business. So, I've been on the look out for containers to hold my bulk ingredients air tight, but elegantly as well. Not only does it look great on my counter but it also holds so much product and has a surprisingly tight seal on the lid. I currently keep my all-purpose flour in one of these. So, pleased with this canister that I will be purchasing 3 more for my cake flour, confectioner's sugar, and granulated sugar to get a nice uniform look in the kitchen. I TOTALLY recommend this! 10/11/2011
Great Storage Canisters! I was looking for some simple stainless steel canisters with clean lines and a secure seal, and these canisters fit the bill perfectly. The glass lids have a plastic gasket on them, and the seal is quite secure. However, the seal is not so secure that one has to fight with the lid to remove it - a real plus for those whose hands may not be very strong or for those with arthritis. The other great feature about the canisters is the straight sides! The canisters do not flare out at the top like some ceramic ones do, so they can be placed very close together, conserving countertop space. The largest canister is nearly four quarts, and it will hold a five pound bag of flour. Because the canisters are sold separately in large, medium or small sizes, one can purchase multiple canisters in the same size or the sizes can be mixed and matched to suit one's unique needs. All in all, a great price value and a great purchase. I am so pleased to have found them! 03/31/2012
Do NOT buy the bronze coloured version The stainless steel might be 5 star but the same, more expensive set, in the bronze is dreadful!! Took hours to gently remove the labels and when I wash the lids prior to use the bronze coating came off!! I would NOT recommend this to anyone! 04/14/2012
Good for a unorthodox application... I know most people store things in these, but these are also exceptional for making a "hobo stove" from. If you're not familiar with what a "hobo stove" is, either Google or check it on Youtube. The basic idea is that it's a portable stand for sitting small pots/pans on and using wood/debris as fuel in lieu of charcoal / propane / butane /etc.If you want a bit of a better idea what I did, I got MY inspiration from this video on Youtube:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4p8ueGfV-i4&feature=BFa&list=PL9F6CDBDAE7D090BD&lf=mh_lolzUnlike the author of the video however, I was a bit OCD in making precise lines and cuts so that mine looks as clean and as neat as possible. I also used heavy gauge steel rods for my top and made a hook to lift the entire stove with if I need to move it while it's hot. These are a excellent size for putting with a mess kit, your titanium spork and storing in a stuff sack from the sporting goods section of Walmart also.
