Patches will annoy new players This game has very nice gameplay, and a seemingly endless field of play. At first you are limited to an island as a tribe, then you advance to a world wide civilization, and then the game reveals a seemingly endless universe. You begin in your universe surrounded by a few planets, but with upgrades you will be able to travel further into this massive universe. You're not alone though, you will encounter conquering empires, and peaceful ones; you will engage in combat with other ships, and will be able to upgrade your own with the destructive capacity to destroy an entire planet. Now the patches for this game may add parts to creature creation, or modify gameplay and supposively fix crashes. The problem with the patch installer is it installs the newest patch first, instead of installing in order of release. This can cause issues such as audio removal, and even the creatures to stop their movement. If you ever encounter this problem I suggest contacting EA via their help website, and requesting a way to manually install patch files. It is very easy to manually install patch files with an instructional word document. So this game offers good gameplay, decent graphics if your video card is good, will have glitches and may annoy you with patch installation errors, and offers a simple drag and drop editor for creatures, vehicles, and buildings. 05/29/2010
Poor showing Do to EA Games policy of NOT Beta testing their patches and downloaded upgrades, this game is full of glitches, some of which can be hazardous to your computer. I spent more time making long distance calls, waiting on hold, and typing e-mails to the help desk then I did play on the game it's self, in the past 3 weeks. 08/22/2009
Not worth the price, over rated This game sounded like it was going to be an awesome game. Did not meet my expectations based on the advertisement. The game has lots of eye candy and it will keep you busy for a couple days but I lost interest in it quick!!Really not worth the price of the game. Civ 3 would be a better buy for this type of game. 08/13/2009
