Rated 4 out of 5 by Zethria Please Research Hair Dying Before Actually Doing! I am a hair care professional. I have used an array of products and colors, and my current fetish is HOT Magenta Pink. I typically use Sallys Beauty Supplys Ion label in Magenta.First and foremost, any type of high intensity colors such as the SPLAT brand are large pigmented color cells. Therefore, they can and will never be permanent, and easily wash out. Second, the type of shampoo, conditioner and styling products you use will drastically change the color of your hair if you are not careful."Shine" sprays and serums have generally have alcohol in them, and that can strip color out of your hair.Shampoos that contain sulfate (of any variety) will do the same.Just washing your hair will wash out the color every time, and depending on the above and how often will determine the length of the color lasting. You virgin haired ladies and gents! Your color will rarely come out to the desired color you would like. Yea, these colors are terrible on virgin hair, in particular those of the dark shades. Thus, you must bleach what you want dyed ( you can use a very low level, like 10, it will do the same).Next, always a safe bet to use a protein filler (found at most beauty stores) to ensure your hair will assume the best and highest color outcome. Follow the directions of the protein filler you chose.Lastly, because these intense "Punky" colors are NOT permanent color, the biggest upside is the lack of damage done to the hair (generally none at all). Therefore, The longer you leave it in the better color results you will have. I generally keep mine in for an hour or too, but you must not let the color dry, so bag it and use heat (blow dryer, interval mins) or (Heating pad, constant over the bag/cap)Here are some FYI's that you should consider before you do the crazy deed of jaw dropping colors:1. When bleaching, do your research, pick a good brand and always to a test strand. That way you do the least amount of damage2. At absolute best, and following all the guidelines above for care taking, your color will still fade in about 4 weeks. So continuation of color is necessary every 4 weeks (give or take).3. Most of these kinds of colors WILL STAIN YOUR HAIR!!! If you are not ready re apply, be ready to do a different hair color.4. Although some of these colors are less messy than others, they will stain anything they touch, so be prepared.5. Vaseline your hairlines around your head. Keeping it off your scalp is hard, but not as big of a deal as having blue/pink/purple stained skin around your face.6. I would only shampoo the hair 1 every three days. Invest in a dry (alcohol free) shampoo for those days in between. This will prolong the hair color nicely.FYI - Blue hues colors will always fade to some sort of ugly green, purple turns to a gross pink/red color, pink turns lighter and depending on the brassiness of the bleached hair can and generally will turn orange.Be smart, do not expect these colors to last anything more than 4 weeks (if your lucky). Research how to properly dye your hair before doing it and then blaming it on the product. (I acknowledge some colors are better than others, but even with the cheapest product I have purchased, I and you can still make it work, if your willing to put in the work. Yes, it is a lot of work!!) 12/06/2012

love5683 LighteningBleachKit DONT LET BAD REVIEWS SCARE YOU i know this has alot of iffy reveiws and some say their hair fell out. While it can,it doesnt happen to most. one of the reason this might have happened to them is because they applied directly to the scalp or applied like they would any other hair dye. That is way their hair fell out. I got a brush and bowl from Sally's and mix the bleach in that. holding my hair up and away from my scalp i applied the bleach, i did this by myself, and to half my head. (uderneth is brown) it explains in the direction to do that. DONT LET IT TOUCH YOUR SCALP!! your hair shouldnt fall out. just dont leave it in longer then what the directions say. i dont have virigin hair. ive dies my hair ever since the six grade, im 16 now. but this was the first time i bleach it. i loved it! i bought the red and bleach my hair but i fell in love with the blond out come i didnt even use the red. my roots were white and the rest of my hair orange, rusty blond. i bought light ash blond cream from Sally's and it fixed it. i tried other bleaches from Sally's when my roots first grew out but it wasnt the same so even tho i only need it for my roots i buy this. I LOVE IT!!! I BUY four or five at a time!!! it last forever because i just do my roots. If the world ends at least I WONT HAVE ROOTS!! hahahahah******PICTURE -sorry the lighting bad! and the smily face in stead of my face 10/31/2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by IamINwonderland I use this everytime Every time I dye my hair, which is...A LOT, I use Splat. It stays in your hair longer and it comes with it's own bleach. Also, it barely bleeds from your hair. I never had a problem with it. The colors even come out very vibrantly. 12/26/2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by kicsismom Splat lightening bleach The good thing about this is that it really does bleach out the color of hair. The bad news is that it fries the hair and causes a lot of breakage. I had just had a short bob haircut. After all the breakage, I have very short hair; some places the hair is barely a half inch long.I had salt and pepper hair color. It striped it to three shades of blond. Ten weeks later, I still have a lot of blond. But I don't have much hair. 09/25/2012
