Okay. Let me first say that Walmart has this product INCORRECTLY labled. It is NOT Splat Color Oops and it is NOT a hair color. It is a COLOR REMOVER. So do not buy this product to color your hair, it will REMOVE your color. I have contacted walmart about this and emailed them as well. So I also hope this review saves whoever buys it from making a mistake. But it is an amazing color remover. I have used this product at least one dozen times, maybe more. And every time, it takes out the color build up and brings me back to my base color. It's a life saver. Even if your hair is gummy and abused, this will actually condition it because the reason why hair feels damaged is because of color build up. This is gentle, and it works well. It is not a bleach, and has no ammonia in it. It has a bit of a perm lotion order to it, but believe me, it will take your hair from black dye to blonde or whatever color your hair was before you dyed it. I just removed color build up of literally five colors and now it is back to my base color and all without damage. My hair was gummy and I could not get a comb through it. Now it's conditioned and silky. I highly recommend this product. If you have long hair, you will need two boxes. If you have long thick hair, you may need three boxes. What is it worth to you? I bought two boxes. LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!! I will continue to use it. Thank you COLOR OOPS.

I tried everything short of shaving my head bald to get the black out of my hair or at least lightened. I read the reviews of this product and was skeptical but desperate. I followed the directions completely and accurately and within 10 minutes I could see it already lightened up. After the 20 minutes I rinsed shampoo'd rinsed and rinsed some more as they said and was delighted to not find one black strand left. It didn't damage my hair in any way, and it's still soft and healthy. I have very thick and medium long hair and it took a bottle and a half for me. If you are out of options, try it out!!

If you have layers and layers of different shades of hair colors, It's not going to remove all of them and take you to your natural to start over. Let me tell you, I had layers of colors, my natural is a ligh brown, i then dyed it a dark brown, then a auburnish brown, then i wanted to go like red, so I dyed it red, and then went to a purplish color and then went black. I had dyed my hair black at least 4 different times before using this product. I used it today and removed my black completely and now my hair is a auburn red color. but brassy. its cute, I like it. But if you have bleached your hair I would be careful, because I dont know what it will do working with bleach. Anyways, I would use this product again, for sure!!!!

Hey, my name is amelia and i am a hair dying freak.. I once dyed my hair 200 times in 1 year... I love my hair black but i have to change it up. My hair has been black for 2 years now and i just keep re-dying it.. But when i want a change i use this product. Yes your hair turns out a redish orange but its light enough to color over.. Now i have bleach blonde hair and all i did was use this product and 1 box of blonde... I have never been happier with this product... USE IT GUYS ITS AMAZING!!!!!!

    • A. I'm mainly writing to correct another answer to this question. The answer stated "Color oops is mainly for removing wild colors (purple, pink, red, yellow, etc) kids today streak their hair." However, if you read the directions it explicitly states Color Oops "is not designed for and will not perform on direct color dyes such as bright pinks, blues, greens, lavenders, purples, etc." (direct quote). It's really used to reverse the effects of relatively recent color deposits of more "natural" colors. If you bleached, then colored your hair, Color Oops will NOT return your hair to its natural color since it has previously been lightened. It will simply remove the pigment you put over the lightened hair. However, if you dyed your hair a couple times over your natural color, this will substantially aid you in your goal of getting your natural color back. For me, I had dyed my hair dark brown (almost black) three or so times over my natural color (light/medium brown), and this practically restored my natural color (the ONLY difference was that it was slightly brassier than my natural color, which is easily correctable with a good toner). The directions caution that this product should not be expected to return your hair to its natural color, so don't set your expectations too high. That said, for me it worked extraordinarily well and almost brought my hair back to its natural state.

    • A. No. Depending on the color of your now, color oops will only remove the last color you dyed your hair. Color oops is mainly for removing wild colors (purple, pink, red, yellow, etc) kids today streak their hair. The best way to go back to your natural hair color is to have your hair highlighted underneath and then the outer layer in a color close to what you want, then let your natural hair grow out. Hope this helps.

    • A. It got a lot of the dye color out but did not take it back to the color it was before - I maybe could have rinsed more but ran out of hot water - I was happy with the results though

    • A. If you dyed your hair from natural color, then yes. But if you had color on your hair before you dyed it black, it will take your hair back to that color. whatever color your hair was prior, it will bring that color back.

    • A. Technically no it wont but it will make it close to your natural hair color... Unless your hair is dyed black then it will turn an orangish red color but its easy to dye over with a color close to your natural.. Hope i helped... =)

Can I use this product (Oops) if I used the L'oreal Hair dye remover 1 month ago? I am natural blond and had dyed my hair black so I used the L'oreal hair dye remover 1 month ago and my hair is now redish brownish. Is it safe to use Oops now? I know it will not turn all the way blond. And what kind of hair dye should I use after I used Oops?

    • A. You cannot lighten hair from a dark color to blonde. The best way is to have your hair highlighted back to blonde to insure all of the red and orange tones are removed or you will probably turn out a brighter orange. Call a good salon and ask or go by there so they can see you hair. Hope this helps. There is no easy solution once you have colored black.

    • A. You can use the Color Oops because it has no bleach or ammonia in it. It will take you back to blonde. If your hair is long use two boxes. You can use any hair dye after. I'd use a gentle dye, or maybe a demi color? Anyway, I love this product and have used it over a dozen times.

    • A. I am not a professional but I had a hair disaster and it was bright fire red and I used the color Oops twice in a row. first night 2 boxes since my hair is so thick then next night another box which got pretty much all the red, then I put Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color Permanent LB2 and it turned my hair a beautiful blonde color. have used every blonde hair color imagineable and I got best results with this. it lightens your hair without bleach which is better in the long run health of your hair. so I think since it has been awhile since you have put anything on your hair you should be fine with putting Oops on your hair, color Oops is safe where you can color right after. hope this was a help

    • A. I would consider it safe to use at this point and use your blonde color of choice immediately following the procedure.
