Rated 5 out of 5★ by 5student5 great return service I returned an outdoor basketball goal that I had just bought from Walmart and found I didn't need. The goal had been delivered to my house, but with Walmart's return policy, I just took the goal myself to the nearest Walmart - without having to go through the bother and cost of return shipping. When I arrived, Walmart employees unloaded the goal, reimbursed me, and within minutes I was on my way. It couldn't have been easier. 09/05/2013

Rated 3 out of 5★ by jl4sports Nice unit, diffilcult build I recently purchased this product and was well aware of the issues that other customers had because I read all the reviews. They had all said this was a very good purchase because of the price and quality of the end product, and I have to agree with them. But, it was very difficult to build because of a few manufacturing issues. I am a very capable person when it comes to project like this, and this product took me 4-5 hours to build it myself. If I had some help, it may have cut that down by 1-2 hours. If you are planning on purchasing this unit, you should just be aware that you will have to spend some time correcting some manufacturing issues like: holes on the mounting plates have been overpainted and need to be redrilled, holes do not line up with the front plastic shield and have to be redrilled, there are not enough bolts provided to finish the last step, and step #2 in the build process is painful because you have to screw in two bolts blindly (that took me 45 mins). Anyways, now that it is up, it is a great product. The quality is excellent and I am glad I purchased it, but this was one of the toughest product builds I have done. 05/24/2010
Rated 5 out of 5★ by KramersHoop Just like in the gym! While there were several reviews of how complicated the construction was, I still decided that a GLASS backboard was worthe the trouble. My boys (ages 8 & 5) put it together in about 3 hours. It was not near as hard to assemble as described and other than lifting the backboard a couple times, the 3 of us had no problem. The finished product not only looks great but performs perfectly. The crank to move the goal height is a little hard for my 8 yr old to adjust but that's the only minor issue that we encountered.Great product, great price...saved over $200 off of what Dick's Sporting Goods had it listed. 06/03/2010
Rated 4 out of 5★ by HoopsFan Well made product I purchased and assembled this product in the past week. Initial impressions are positive. It was easier to assemble than expected, but does take some work. It is well made with quality components, with instructions that are pretty clear. It seemed like a good mid-priced product between expensive in-ground systems and cheap acrylic systems. I was mainly looking for a backboard with enough strength to mimic the bounce effect you'd get from a glass indoor system. This comes close, and that's about all I could ask for. Two gripes: the instructions are general to a few products and don't specify a couple things that are unique to this system, and that took a while to figure out. It would be better if Spalding gave you the exact instructions for the product you buy. The netting is very cheap. I had hoped it would come with a good net as part of a $600 system, but the netting got torn in the process of getting it on the rim so I'll be buying a better quality net very soon. Rim, backboard, base and components seem like they will be very durable. I purchased the product using the Wal-Mart site to store service. There was a small problem with my credit card that was unique to me, and Wal-Mart resolved that issue efficiently and quickly. 04/08/2009
Rated 5 out of 5★ by JerseyHoop Great Value The portable hoop is better than anticipated in terms of quality, considering the price. The tempered glass backboard makes all the difference compared to cheaper acrylic units. Some of the call-outs were that I could not see the nylon spacers already installed in the backboard and called Huffy/Spalding to order replacement spacers after taking a detailed parts inventory. I spent less than five minutes on the phone with Huffy and was promised the missing parts. A week later, I had not received the nylon spacers and called again. This time I was on hold for a good 15 minutes and when a representative came on, she noted that they were out of stock on those parts and they were not shipped yet. Huffy then decided to send me a longer spacer with 2-Day shipping. The parts did arrive on the third day, but as noted, the original spacers were in the backboard with the foam pad already installed. I had pointed this out to the rep, but she did not know the system well enough to be able to tell me that they were installed. Otherwise, the only other difficulty was getting the 475 pounds of sand into the portable base. Would definitely do the water and ant-freeze next time, but the previous base on another system had cracked and did not hold water after a couple of years. Also the height sticker is incorrectly mounted, but that's an easy fix. The instructions were only unclear on the spacers mentioned and the jack component for the height adjustment. It was not clear that the top bolt had to go through the inner metal tube as well.Overall, easy to install and well worth it! We love the final result. 07/27/2009
Rated 5 out of 5★ by Talmude Great for the up and coming basketball player It took us two days to put it together...some of the directions are a little confusing but it's well worth it in the end. It's a sturdy hoop. The back board is solid and doesn't wabble when you shoot the ball. If your son or daughter is planning a future playing basketball, it's well worth the investment. 08/13/2010
