Rated 5 out of 5 by volleyguy The one everyone's using now Since the AVP went under, you can't get the Wilson yellow-and-white AVP balls anymore. Everyone on the beach is using these. They're similar to the old Spalding balls in that the seams form raised ridges that catch the air. You can put more spin on the ball (compared to the Wilsons) because of this. I'm yet to see how long they hold up. I hope they last longer than the old Spaldings, which would deform (they'd get egg shaped) and would absorb and hold water, making them very heavy. If they last as long as the Wilsons, which will last a very long time, then these should be good balls. 05/18/2012
