do not recommend purchase I bought this item to put in my laundry room for storage. After the third shelf was put on, (very difficult to put together for two people) we realized that it would never be sturdy enough to hold anything. Would hardly stand by itself without leaning. Thin material, says will hold 900 lbs, i doubt it. Packaged it back up to take back for something better. Don't waste you time or money. 11/30/2011
was expecting a lot more from this shelving. not worth buying or waiting for. Will be returned if possible. I hope that the site to store shipping allows for that. I will find out in a minute. NOT reccomended! 12/25/2011
Poor Design My son and I tried to put this unit together. The tabs that were supposed to fit into slots in the support uprights would slid right out again when you hooked up the other supports. It was so flimsy that the supports were waggling and popped right out again when you tried to hook the next support to the frame. We struggled with it about an hour and still couldn't get the bottom to stay together. We took it right back to Walmart and I ordered a steel commercial shelving unit instead. Walmart graciously accepted the return of this unit and refunded my money. This was a site to store shipment and I would definitely order this way again. Thank you Walmart. good shelf at a good price. this is a review of the space solutions 1000 series shelving unit - 72" x 48" X 18." this is a good, solid shelving unit, made in the USA. a clean design and no exposed rivets like many industrial type shelves, so it is also suited to non-industrial environments. once assembled, it is very sturdy and carries the advertised weight. i bought 4. after the learning curve of assembling the 1st unit, the rest went together easily, being assembled by one person (one person with decent hand-eye coordination, manual dexterity, and patience) armed with only a mallet and a pair of vice grips. i was pleased enough with the product, i ordered two more. be advised, units weigh a lot. best to assemble frame, move into final position, then add particle board shelves. 02/14/2012
