Rated 4 out of 5 by DKingdon Very Firm and a Little Misleading The decription portion for this product fails to clerify that this mattress is only 1.5 inches of memory and 4.5 inches of HD foam, which was clearly stated on the paperwork that came in the box with mine. Memory foam is usually very firm until it breaks in, meaning you won't really "sink in" until it's broken in, but this only had 1.5 inches to sink into to. You're pretty much getting a 1.5 inch thick mattress on top of a 4.5 inch thick foundation. I even purchased a 4 inch high-qaulity memory foam topper, and still the bed is very very firm. Very disappointing!And if you're thinking about purchasing another size the booklet states that:The 8" is: 3 inches memory foam with 5 inches HD foam.The 12" is: 3 inches memory foam with 9 inches HD foam. 06/05/2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by DilTuta Awsome bunk bed mattress!! We bought these for our kids bunkbeds. I was a little worried at first thinking that they wouldnt be thick enough or strong enough. The day we got them we unpacked them and let them fill and get back into shape for two days. We did place a small piece of plyboard on the bunkbeds slats (but I would do that anyway for reinforcment) The mattresses fit perfectly and were nice and snug along the railing. They were hard at first but now having them awhile they are getting nice and soft and my boys just love them. I would definety suggest these to anyone with bubkbeds. 01/29/2010
Rated 2 out of 5 by texasonlineshopper its ok. get atleast a 10" inch for good support I have had this mattress in king size for about 5 years now. It felt very good and firm initially when we got it. It comes vacuumed in a box which easily fit in my Honda civic. After about 2 years it started to sink in and lose its support ( not the firmness)(I bought a new 12" since then and that is excellent.)Based on my research, a mattress needs atleast 7-8 inches of the support core foam ( the non memory foam) for durability . The top layer can then be 1 to 3 inches of memory foam for comfort and that soft engulfing feeling.Your money will be better spent on atleast a 10 inch mattress. It will last longer and provide better support. 12/15/2009
Rated 2 out of 5 by hannahima01 use only as a topper this product is thin to be used as a sole mattress. it bottoms out. i purchased this to use as a mattress for the boat being that space is of a premium there, it needed to fit inside my custom made made mattress cover.(hence why i only purchased the six inch and not thicker) i still had to add an additional 2 inch topper so that i wouldnot bottom out. this is great for a topper, but not as a mattress. too high priced just to be able to utilize it as a mattress topper. 07/27/2011
