Rated 5 out of 5 by cheap cure for back aches! Did not have to air out before using, no latex or chemical smell whatsoever. The 3" foam allows your heavy parts to sink down while "filling in" the spaces like the arch of the back and under the knees. It does not hold heat like a feather bed so you are comfy cozy all night long. This topper does far more than advertised and I never expected to resolve our back problems with a product so inexpensive, especially considering that TempurPedic and other mattresses start at $4,000. Try this before you spend your hard earned money on a whole new mattress! 06/28/2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by The best money I've spent in a long time!! I waited 4 months to write this review so I could really critique it and provide a lot of feedback for someone else. The reason I looked into a memory foam was for two reasons: one was that our mattress was really worn out - and not just a little...the mattress literally has indentations in it from our bodies. Unfortunately, it's a pillow top mattress so we can't flip it to the other side, only from end to end. My husband and I were both waking up with stiff hips and sore backs! But we simply could not possibly afford a decent mattress. The second reason I looked into this was because my friend swore his life up and down that this was the best product ever and he went on to describe how awesome it was for 15 minutes. His was for his camper bed and he said the difference was just unreal. So I thought I'd research it. I looked high and low for a month or so trying to get the best deal for my money...and sure enough it was Walmart. I decided on the 3 inch foam because 5 inches just might have been too thick, but the 1 inch didn't seem like enough. Our first few nights laying on this were a little weird. We just weren't used to it and we never did let it rest out of it's packaging like recommended (to air out and fluff up). Well, it seemed fluffy enough. It had a little "smell" for about a day, but it was not bad by any means. My queen size mattress sheets do not fit so good-they come off the mattress and seem to just stay on the memory foam itself but it really doesn't pose a problem for us. I guess one weird part of this was that it felt like you had to lift your body to turn over, instead of rolling over. BUT it's totally and absolutely amazing how little you need to roll over! Now I am a very poor sleeper...up all night, tossing and turning literally 30-40 times. On this foam, I turn over at the most 8 times a night and that's on my bad days...some nights I actually wake up on the same side 4 hours later! Now that's a miracle in itself. Not to mention how awesome it feels to just lay on this memory foam...it's so soft, plush and comfy...it just makes you want to relax and go to sleep! So here we are 4 months later and we have not had to buy our new bedroom mattress because we are content with this now. We still feel the wave of the mattress below so I do know that in the Spring we'll have to consider something else but this buys us time to save more money! We've also used this foam on our camper mattress which is the exact opposite of our home mattress. The camper mattress is very hard and probably pretty cheap. So it was a different feeling again, this time we instantly liked it better. The support was firm, yet supportive where you needed it. Like, I could actually feel where my pressure points were as I laid on my side, and I could feel the difference in support. It was sooo awesome to not feel the coils anymore, hahaha. And this thing also keeps in heat, so you do need less covers or you can turn the heat down and save a buck or two. I am buying one of these in the twin size for my daughter's bed because I am so happy with it. She just loves to lay in my bed and "melt". I think she'll also sleep much better. I highly recommend this product to anyone who has a worn out mattress or a hard, cheap mattress, or even to people out there who have a hard time sleeping because they toss and turn. 12/09/2010

Instead of going out and spending hundreds of dollars to buy a new mattress, this was a great value and feels great! Would highly recommend. It doesn't slip and move around or constantly need adjusted like other mattress toppers I've seen. And I didn't need to buy deep fit sheets either - it fit perfectly. GREAT product! Rated 5 out of 5 by Viscolatex Topper fit the bill! I bought this to go on top of the mattress in my camper. I was more than satisfied with this product the very first night I slept on it. It is very good quality and a good value, to boot. The size was perfect and it added 3 inches of sleeping comfort. A friend recommended this item and I am sure glad he did. Rated 5 out of 5 by After looking at several expensive options to make a recently purchased, high end pillow top firm mattresses bearable, we turned to consumer reports and were surprised to find this Walmart exclusive as it's highest rated latex foam topper. Incredible price, excellent product, worth 10 times it's price. Doesn't get uncomfortably warm like our former memory foam topped mattress, doesn't restrict movement either. Absolutely perfect! Rated 5 out of 5 by Oh So Soft I first bought the topper because I had an old mattress and was waking up every morning with so much pain, it took a few minutes for my back and body to adjust before I could walk. Once I got the topper, I not only looked forward to going to bed (it's so soft!) but I also quit hurting when I woke up. I ended up buying one for my mechanic son (bent over cars all day, has scoliosis too and a painful back) and my daughter and her husband who both have back problems. We all love it! I have since bought a memory foam mattress and bought another topper to make it softer. It does. I guess buying 4 of these toppers should speak for itself. 07/31/2009
Rated 2 out of 5 by NOT WHAT I EXPECTED! I purchased this item because of the price, and thickness of memory foam. When I received the item I was a little disapointed. The actual "memory foam" material was about half an inch thick followed by 2.5 inch of cheap padding. I recently had a 2" memory foam that I was pleased with, so I thought this would be an upgrade, but I was way off. The people that rate this item so good probalby didnt have a memory foam to compare it to.. I would say that if you like firmness than this product could work for you. Rated 5 out of 5 by Really Nice! You won't regret this purchase! I ordered one of these for myself for my queen bed. I had never had one before, or even anything similar. Let me tell you what I did! The first night I actually slept on it upside down, and it was very comfortable even that way. Then, my friend, who had gotten one too, informed me I had it upside down, so I flipped it over. I have enjoyed better night's sleep ever since. I wake up feeling refreshed in the mornings and I almost hate to get out of bed! I love it! I wish I had gotten one a long time ago. I don't have anymore leg cramps, my back doesn't hurt when I get up, and I fell rested and ready to start my day. I don't think you will ever regret buying one of these! I don't! But I have to tell you something. When I first went to sleep on it the first night, I didn't think it was all that much softer.....until I woke up in the morning and realized how good it felt, and how rested I felt. My mattress pad fits right on top, no problem with fitted sheet either. Even my dog doesn't toss and turn all night anymore. Used to wake up with aches and pains, not anymore. Rated 5 out of 5 by Love it!!!! I've had this mattress topper about 1 month and I absolutely it. It cushions and cradles my body without pressure and without being too confining. I was a little worried it might be too hot--I keep my thermostat at 68 in the winter and still get too hot at times--but it hasn't been a problem. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone whose mattress is too hard and causing pressure points. 12/25/2009
Rated 3 out of 5 by Disappointed. We are side sleepers having shoulder and hip pressure point pain and thought this would help, but very little. It is also very hot even though I purchased an extra thick mattress cover to help with air flow/ventilation. You do "sink" down and get comfy, but it does not relieve pressure at shoulder or hip. If you are a back sleeper, it would probably be perfect. It looks nice on the bed and does not slide around. We aired it out for 2-3 days before putting on the bed, so odor was not a problem as others had said. 03/14/2011

Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Value Bought this mattress topper hoping my lower back would be more comfortable, and I wasn't disappointed! I don't always have a sore back in the mornings, but some days I'd have to get up even if I was still tired because my lower back and ribcage was so achey. Since I've been sleeping on this foam topper, it's helped about 95% of the time! You have to have deep pocket fitted sheets, but even if they do pull up, the foam holds them in place pretty well. No problem with smell, and site-to-store delivery was prompt. 11/10/2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by So much more I wasnt expecting to get nearly as nice of a topper as this, but boy was I wrong. I'm Absolutely impressed! Its like a whole new mattress. No toxic smell when opening from the bag like most toppers will have, foam poped up as soon as we opened it and no "hot" bed when you sleep at night. The pad is layered in a way that works so well that we cant notice how uncomfortable the mattress was before. Compaired to other toppers we've had in the past this one is by far the best $60 we've spent. 08/03/2010

I needed a new mattress but didn't want to spend thousands on one only to find out it is not confortable. Consumer Reports rates this topper VERY HIGH!!! I ordered it and it was shipped to me within 2 days!! I have been sleeping like a baby and want to stay in bed when I don't have to work. My friend who has a bad back and hips came over to try mine and ordered one for herself that very day. I also ordered one for my grandson and he loves it!! My friend says she no longer hurts when she wakes up or turns over. She is also on a cancer drug which makes her sweat and change pajama tops at night and since she got this "breathable" topper...she no longer sweats with her medication!! I tell EVERYONE this is the BEST money I ever spent. You will NEVER regret this purchase!! 03/06/2012

It was a wonderful addition to my mattress and now I can feel a lot better and refreshed when I wake up in the morning after sleeping on this topper. Great product for the money. 12/17/2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by Better than expected I can't imagine why anyone would pay hundreds more for a simular product. This mattress pad is awesome because you get the best of both worlds with latex on one side and memory foam on the other. I have a fractured disc in my lower back that aggrivates my sciatic nerve and had to purchase an air mattress to alleviate the pain, and wanted to add just a bit more comfort. I didn't get the pillow top mattress because it was $600 more so I settled for a plush and searched the web for a mattress pad. I was sceptible when I saw this one because others were hundreds more, but decided to try it. I didn't think my air mattress could be improved upon until I added this topper. I sleep so soundly now and am not awakened by my sciatic nerve attacking me. I plan to purchase another one for my elderly parents. DON'T BE FOOLED BY HIGHER PRICED MATTRESS PADS!!! 10/03/2010
Rated 5 out of 5 by worth every penny! I love this topper! I got this item when I was 8 months pregnant. I am also a plus size gal, 5'8" and right now about 275lbs. Before the topper I had all kinds of hip and back pain and was tossing and turning. Now, I am due any day and I feel great. I know it is because of the topper. I went on vacation a few weeks ago and stayed at a great hotel with super nice beds. For 4 days I was in tons of pain, came back home and the next day felt great! If you are FPO it takes a month to get to your box. When you take it out of the package it will smell bad for a few weeks but you should get over it. I do like the white cover it comes with. The topper does shed little bits but if you have the cover on and your sheets over it, it shouldn't matter. The topper is firm and soft at the same time. It also keeps you warmer at night because it cradles your body. I totally recommend this product if you are having any body pains. 09/15/2010
Rated 2 out of 5 by I Sleep Better Without It Upon reading the majority good reviews I decided to order this topper, as my brand new mattress was "too firm." 1. It fit my king sized mattress well enough (a little short in some areas). I'm not very picky. 2. Took 2 weeks to air out enough to not aggrevate my allergies. 3. Didn't make my firm mattress any more comfortable. It somehow made it more uncomfortable. 4. Slid around at times 5. I flipped the topper thinking one side would improve performance, w/ no improvement; only sleeping a few hours per night 6. Finally folded it in fourths (virtually impossible to repackage alone) & returned it to my local Walmart w/box in tow. 7. I now sleep almost compeletly through the night on my "too firm" mattress. 05/03/2011

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Value/Perfect Comfort This item was just as described. It came well packed and was easy to get set up. It did have a mild odor but it dissipated quickly. I slept on the bed the first night I had it home. It took me about a week to get used to it. I felt a bit like I was in a crater when I went to roll over. But, I have been able to sleep comfortably on my back for the first time in over 15 years. It provides support and cushioning just where I need it to help with my back and hip issue. Rated 1 out of 5 by Not what I expected or wanted I was so excited to finally get a memory foam mattress topper for the first time and ordered this one out of all the others based upon the great reviews. There are so many options and I shopped around at various places because these things aren't cheap and I had hoped a memory foam mattress topper would help with my lower back pain. When I received this item it appeared to be very thin. I took it out of the packaging and let it lay flat on the floor overnight. I did not notice any bad odor, so that was a good thing, and the next morning it had "fluffed" up to the 3" it's supposed to be. However, the topper is extremely firm and I don't feel any sinking sensation whatsoever. I am so disappointed. It is just not comfortable to me and $100 is not easy to throw away. 01/09/2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by too soft This topper is just too soft for me. It's not supportive. I just sink into it. It causes back pain when I sleep on my stomach. It took forever to air out the stinky smell, and by the time I could sleep on it and give it a chance to try to get used to it, my 30 days was over and I couldn't return it. Anybody who wants it can have it. Glad I didn't get the 4" topper. That would be even worse. Oh, and my sheets don't fit over it and the mattress. 11/16/2009
Rated 3 out of 5 by why is the pad shorter than the mattress?? im not gonna return it since its SOOO COMFY but why is the pad that i ordered along with the queen foam mattress so much shorter than the foam mattress?? i slept very well and woke up without the sore back i got from moving a truck load of stuff to a new apartment, but i will never understand how this pad is shorter than the mattress! be aware if you do buy this pad it wont actually fit the mattress its supposed to fit 09/02/2009

Rated 5 out of 5 by I had purchased a memory foam mattress earlier that was far too hard, so I decided to try and see if a mattress topper would make sleeping any easier. This one is perfect - it is actually like having a new mattress. It might be soft, but it also provides a good deal of support, since it contours to your body. I would certainly recommend this mattress topper to anyone who can't sleep because their original mattress is too hard or uncomfortable. It's a great bargain find, as well. Seriously, I never write reviews, but I feel like I sort of have to for this product. 10/15/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Enough While this is good enough for it's price, I was slightly disappointed that this topper's base of memory foam has pencil-sized holes approx. every 1/2" which reduce the foam's density. I purchased 2 of these for women in their 80s; I wanted a quality product for long-term comfort. The memory foam topper that I purchased at Sam's Club seems to be better than this--we've used it for a year & I'm still amazed at how comfortable it is. I'd expected the addition of latex + extra 1/2" height of this topper to exceed the comfort of mine. 09/05/2011
