This bookcase headboard is just what I wanted. The directions were easy and it looks great in the newly painted bedroom. The only suggestion that I have is that in the description on the web of the item it should state that bolts to connect headborad to frame are not included. My husband and I knew this from past projects; however alot of people are not aware if they have never put one of these together. 07/13/2011
Nice design I really do like this headboard, but there were some dents and nicks in quite a few of the pieces straight out of the box. As I bought this only as a temporary solution for a headboard for my guest room I wasn't too concerned about it, but I would be leary as to getting another one. 08/31/2011
Ok, not great not bad, probably overpriced This is long but please read. Although I recommend, it is with great reservations.Got this for my vacation home. It was delivered to store and picked it up. Associates were very helpful. Got it back to the house and put it together by myself and took about 2 hours. Seems long but pretty typical. The bed over all looks nice, but quailty is ok and the bed is pretty sturdy. However, I recently bought one from Ikea (Brimnes) that was, imo, better quality, especially the drawers. Note that the Ikea took 2 person 3 hours to finish. Here is the breakdown of some of the differences.Hardware - Ikea wins, despite resin (brimnes) vs metal (vito) rafix screws. Vito had plastic/metal bolts where ikea had metal. Ikea had wood dowels, vito had resin plastic.Construction - The Ikea bed was supported better with metal bracing in the middle and all around the bed, as opposed to just the frame and 4 small wood slats for the vito. While both are particle boards, ikea ones seemed of better quality. In addition, the ikea boxes (4) was much heavier than the vito boxes (2) they came in.Headboard - Vito is clear winner here because of usefulness. However, the ikea one is slight better build, but useless storage wise.Storage - the main reason you are getting this. Ikea hands down, not even close. Ikea has 4 large drawers (2 on each side) making full use of the space under the bed. Drawer glide are metal good quality roller type as well. Vito has 2 very small drawers on one side and really cheap plastic drawer glides (ikea used to use these 10 years ago and were better quality).Price - Ikea price is comparible, actually cheaper if you make your own slat support for the mattress (ikea wanted $50) like I did. However based on the materials a better deal. For $400+, I feel it is overpriced, given the parts and construction.I would recommend, if it is cheaper say $300 or less, especially for a vacation home. However, I would not recommend for my primary home even for kids due to lack of storage and overall quality. 05/22/2012
