I ordered this product for a new bedroom in my home. after i ordered it i had read some reviews saying it was flimsy or lop sided, which made me extreamly upset but i decided to put it together anyway. I found that the dresser is as sturdy as can be and not lop sided at all. i am impressed with the dresser and will be purchasing other smaller South Shore dressers from walmart.com. the instuctions were easy to follow and i was able to put it together all by myself

I needed a dresser/mirror for my 2nd guest bedroom and decided to purchase this dresser for practicality. I like the look of it, but not the quality of it. The drawers are flimsy, but it will do for a guest bedroom or for a room that won't get used as much. I had this product delivered and it arrived FedEx. No damage when I received it. The box weight is 111 pounds. VERY Heavy and it states that 2 people are needed to move it. I, however, moved it myself easily across my laminate floors :) When I got to the stairs, I had to carry it up by pieces. Assembly wise, it took me close to 3 hours to put the dresser/matching mirror together. You'll need a hammer, philips screw driver as well as a flat head. I used my power screwdriver set to put the dresser together (saved alot of time!) The matching mirror wasn't easy to assemble by myself, but I did it! You should really have someone help you. Over all, I like the look of it and it fits perfectly in my guest room without taking up too much space.

I currently keep my 32" tv on my dresser but the dresser is old and im looking for another one. Do you believe that this dresser would be able to hold a tv ofthat size? if your not sure then can you tell me if it is very sturdy or strong?
    by an anonymous customer 2/10/2010
    • This dresser does seem quite sturdy. I'm not sure how much your TV weighs, but I would be comfortable putting a TV on mine.

    • If its an older heavy model I would say no. We have a 37" flat screen on it, and have no problem at all but thats very light.

    • I just wrote a review on this dresser about how sturdy it is. I have my 42 inch plasma sitting on it & it does just fine. If your 32 inch isnt a flatscreen then I would look around & see if I could find the weight limit on this dresser!

    • No sorry, I don't think it can. I actually got it for the same reason expecting to put my t.v. on it. but I got something else to put my t.v. on bc the dresser is not very sturdy cheap materials & it actually says not to put t.v.s and heavy objects on it too.

    • It says in the instructions not to put that much weight on it, but it holds our 36' TV and a DVD player. In fact I think the weight on top makes it a little more stable.

    • Regular screwdriver, phillips head screwdriver, hammer. Use an electric screwdriver for most of the work and finish the tightening with the hand ones. It will save some time and wear on your hands. Just be careful if you are not experienced with the electric screwdriver as you can strip the screw heads quickly and/or drive them in too far and ruin the product.

    • It's some kind of cardboard-like material. It doesn't look bad, but I would probably always place it somewhere with its back to the wall. You could spray paint it black & nobody would be any the wiser.
