Stylish, Inexpensive, Great Price, Sony Quality
I bought these when they were on sale. I got it for a little over $16.00. I was looking for a headphone that was white, looked good, but would not break the bank. This Sony headphone fitted the bill perfectly. The little red you see on the headphone is to let users know that is the right side. On the left side there is a little tactile dot, so you can put these things on correctly without visibility. To me it was just icing on the cake. The base is on the average, but I came from some high bass in the ear headphones, so I immediately noticed the difference.
These headphones bleed out sound, which for me is a double edged sword. I can wrap the headphones around my neck and pump the music. But, this can also bother others around you. These headphones are a little tight and there is no cushion on the band so it does begin to hurt a little if worn for about an hour. I actually ran with these. They have been ok so far, but I do not recommend them because they will shift around on your head. These were not marketed for athletic use, so I'm not angry about it.
The quality and construction of the headphones are fairly robust. The cups in comparison to say Dr. Dre Beats Monster. The Monsters are thinner, but at about $200 price tag, it is comparing apples and oranges. I'm just giving a reference. Compared to a $200 studio headphone there is no comparison. People that say they are as good...umm no comment. The 3.5 mm jack is not gold plated and the cord is big and flat. This helps to keep it from getting tangled, and it feels much more robust. The name Sony speaks for itself. Sony typically does not make junk and this is no exception. I expect these headphones to go through a beating and last.
Overall this was a good buy.
