I have a couple of the original glasses and while heavier than these new ones (I purchased two), they did not have what I consider to be the only flaw in the new design. When I watch my XBR-46HX909, depending on the angle in which I hold my head, I can see what amounts to a reflection of the TV image at the top-inner portion of the glass lens (or perhaps the shiny plastic itself, I haven't figured out which one it is yet). Its almost like a mirrored effect when you see the main 3D image directly but see/sense a tiny reflection of the same screen image at the edge of the glass/upper plastic portion of the inside lens. Has anyone else experienced this anomoly? I suppose you have to take in account the position of the screen (mine is mounted higher so I have to tilt my head slightly upward). So there you have it - a tradeoff between weight savings of the new design and the inevitable extra comfort as compared to the older, heavier but more "sealed" design. Oh well, I still don't regret my purchase of the new design and the $69 sale price is hard to beat.

What can you say about a product that is terrific for about two minutes before the pain on the sides of my head starts up? While the rechargable glasses work perfectly with 3D images, I should have paid attention to the reviews. Imagine watching a 3D movie with your head in a vise and you'll understand the experience. How can Sony, who makes great products including my Sony Bravia TV come up with a $70 pair of glasses that can't be worn for more than a few minutes before getting a throbbing headache. Sony says they are adjustable but it ain't so. I'm going to try to heat the temples and bend them to a new shape. Otherwise these two glasses I bought are useless.

Haven't even watched a full movie with these yet on my 55xbr929. Was watching the 3D demo programs over the internet tv and the bridges of both our noses (wife and I) began to hurt in less than 1/2 hour. I found myself constantly wanting to shift their sitting position. My wife couldn't handle the pain and took them off before an hour in. So much for the idea of a full movie. I also see that reflection at the top of the glasses. It depends on the vertical angle at which you are tilting your head. Not sure yet what I'll do with these glasses. Sony needs to improve because these are a joke. My Samsung glasses are much better. Too bad they won't work on this tv.
