LOVE IT! I bought this for my daughter to take on her trip to Alaska. The camera is so easy to use. Very user friendly and the 4 Gig memory is wonderful. She said once the "new" wears off on her trip she plans to keep it in her purse to take video of her granddaughter. Our family are real shutter bugs and this is just another great camera to add to "all" of our cameras we have.I shopped around for other cameras that would fit her needs and this one was the right price & for what she needed. 08/21/2009
Awsome Camcorder We just bought the sony SX40 to tape our wedding ceremony. It was kind of a last minute purchase when we decided to upgrade our bulky outdated sony camcorder. I am usually not the one to by anything without reading reviews, but we were in a hurry. Well I am not the least bit disappointed with it. It did a wonderful job recording our wedding on the beach!! It also takes pictures, but the quality isnt the greatest; especially if your trying to take a picture further away...but we didn't buy it for that, we already have a digital camara. We couldn't believe how small it was when we opened the box. Very easy to use once you read over the instructions. I just wish it came in different colors. We would have liked the color red instead...but no big deal. Also the memory cards are a bit expensive. But well worth it. It beats having the big tapes. 05/19/2009
Just what I wanted,,, If you are looking for a camcorder that is small, compact and portable,,,this is it. I first saw it on display before Walmart got it in the store and I knew this was the one. It has excellent zoom capabilities and it takes great movies. I've not taken any pix yet, but I will. As far as the size goes, it is perfect. You won't get tired of carrying it around. My son graduates next month I have a camcorder that's easy to use. I plan to get an extra battery and other accessories. I went ahead and got an 8gb memory stick. I'm good to go.I looked at other camcorders, but this one was the one that I needed. Before you buy, do your homework. You will not regret buying this one. 05/26/2009
Fantastic Camera I recently bought this to replace my DXG camera because its screen had broken. This camera blew me away. It takes absolutely fantastic video. It has vivid color, crystal clear stereo sound, and really clear video for a standard definition camcorder. I love the amount of options and features it has. They make the video look professional. Even if you don't mess with the settings, the videos are great. I had read that many people have had trouble with editing the MPEG2 videos of this camera, but that can be fixed. If you want to just cut video, that can be done on the camera itself, but for more advanced editing there is an option on the menus of the PMB software included with the camera that allows for conversion to WMV format. This camera takes awesome videos with a resolution of 640x480 in 4:3 mode and 640x360 in widescreen. The photos are really grainy though with the same resolution. I would highly suggest this camera for anybody. From the rookie to the professional, it packs a lot of features into an easy to use interface. 11/01/2009
