I had been waiting for Sony to release this unit. Super fast start up times, blow through Blu-Ray menu start up in no time... but best of all 802.11n fast wireless access to streaming Netflix movies quickly. I am delighted to have disconnected my HP Media PC and now simply operate and maintain a device to stream my Netflix movies and watch Blu-Rays and an occasional DVD. Only wish it would find DLNA certified devices for streaming content from my NAS drives... but firmware updates to support Sony 3D will be out soon, and maybe they'll add the feature later. Otherwise, for the price... currently it can't be beat for those that just want to simplify their life by not running an IT department for the entire house... to watch movie turn on and go!

I ordered the Sony BDP-S570 Blu-Ray Player on-line and it arrived last Friday, only a few days after I ordered it. I had it connected to the TV quickly with an HMDI cable, and was connected to my WiFi network within 15 minutes. I am not sure what the issues are everyone else has had connecting to their WiFi. I used the scan feature from the Blu-ray player. It found my secure network and then simply required me to input my WEP code and wala - we were streaming. I already had accounts with Netflix, Pandora, and Youtube, so I only had to establish a link with those accounts, which was also quick. I found that linking accounts moved fast because I was on a laptop and was able to sit in front of my TV and log into each account as needed. Yes, there are some features I needed to sign up for, but all-in-all, I found the set-up to move quickly. I also love the video on demand feature, and since my family does not watch TV and only use cable for satellite radio, I am considering canceling our cable subscription and using this for all of our needs. The picture quality is incredible! We still have not seen a Blu-Ray DVD play in the system, but all of our older DVDs look incredible. I highly recommend this product!!

I recently purchased the Sony Blu Ray player S-570. I couldn't believe how clear the picture is. What a difference between regular DVD and Blu Ray. I am glad i made the decision to purchase this Blu Ray Player. I would highly recommend this product.

I have been looking for the right Blu-ray player for quite some time and this is definitely it! The graphic interface looks like the same interface for a PS-3, so it will be familiar to many people. The overall quality is superb (using HDMI cable). I also wanted it to hook up with my NetFlix account and I was surprised as, once your unit is registered, it has so many other features to it as well other than NetFlix. Playing Blu-ray discs (and standard DVD) is a snap and the picture is quite stunning. My family and I couldn't be happier. It has far surpassed our expectations. Oh yes, I also wanted a unit that was G compatible. I know most units only work with N band. G works very well and I have had absolutely NO problems watching movies using wireless G. HD movies work flawlessly as well using G.

  • A. All Blu Ray players will play standard DVD's and upconvert them as best they can to simulate HD. Don't be fooled, however, the quality will be good, but not like watching a true Blu Ray disc. Most people however find the difference negligible. (means they can't really see a difference.)
