    Can't go back to a manual brush My wife bought the single handle version of this toothbrush upon our dentist's recommendation. At first, I admit I was skeptical and a bit miffed at the expense. But I noticed a visible difference within days (*pearly* white tooth color and cleanliness). It even make my TOOTHPASTE work better (foams).After using it for about ~4 years now, I can't go back to a manual brush now that the rechargeable battery/handle died. (Wish I got 4 years out of my first laptop battery!) Manual brushing simply doesn't get my teeth and tongue as clean. And my dentist comments each year that the brush (gargling and rinsing) are doing an excellent job. I can still grin and say "Look Ma! No cavities! - at age 44.Most importantly, using the Sonicare keeps me from brushing (pressing) too hard with a manual brush and damaging my gums. My dentist says this is a fairly common problem and why she recommended it to me as well. A hairline is not the only thing that recedes as you get older, you know.Despite the name "Sonic," there is little or no vibration felt at my teeth- it's all in the bristles. I have had sensitive teeth before, so I was worried about that prior to using it. When I'm starting to do the work of the brush by pressing too hard- I know I'm overdue for a new head. Here are some other things I'll pass on to others:I recommend the two handle version for traveling spouses.Check with your dentist for a coupon before buying. Also see if the purchase qualifies under your medical FSA at work.Check for the model of brush with the cheapest replacement heads.Check more than one Walmart for discontinued models (our new store only carries one model-the newest... our older Walmart had last year's model marked down).Finally, I would rate it higher if it were less expensive (especially the replacement heads). 10/01/2009
    Sonic toothbrush Very impressed with how clean my teeth & mouth are when using this. My husband has had this one for 2 years and likes it, too. You do have to make sure that you remove the brush about once a week and clean the insides with a Q-tip because it will get moldy in there. 09/10/2008
    Sonic Care Toothbrush Love the tooth brush - we paid almost $200 for one with 2 heads. HATE the fact that less than 2 years after we purchased it - IT DOESN'T WORK! Spoke to the company (Philips Sonic Care) and they said the battery is most likely "crystalized" (which THEY SAID WILL EVENTUALLY HAPPEN TO ALL OF THEM!) and they won't replace it as we can't find the receipt. BEWARE! In my book, $200 is way too much money for a toothbrush that lasted less than 2 years. That's not even counting the replacement heads we purchased @ $30-$40 (for 2 heads) each every 3-4 months! That's almost $400 in the trash bin! Ask yourself if you can AFFORD to THROW AWAY that much money BEFORE you buy ANY Sonic Care Toothbrush! 03/15/2010
    Disappointed Purchased Sonicare ( 2 handle 5350) online and opened them on Christmas day. One handle worked, the other one DIDNOT work. Very disappointed! 12/28/2009
