They are very beautiful, with no defects and they are dishwasher, microwave and oven safe. Definitely worth the $32 we paid for this set of 16 pieces. The bowls are nice and deep. When I opened the boxes to make sure my Site-to-Store shipping had not damaged the dishes, I was pleased to see every single piece looked not only intact, but ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. When my husband saw them, he looked super surprised they were as beautiful and stylish as they are (I think he had low expectations due to the affordable price). We're very excited to use them as our newlywed set in our new home.Just so you know, the red is very dark (I love it) and the outside of the mugs/underside of the plates is black, so if you don't like dark plates and mugs, I wouldn't buy these, but the red is a very rich deep, dark red just as pictured in the online photos. 06/16/2011

Love the durability.When I first pulled them out of the box to wash them I was worried they would scratch easy. The flat black on the bottom and the shiny red on the top/inside are both very durable.Great sizes. The bowls are bigger than they look. 05/17/2011
