Rated 1 out of 5 by Dissatisifiedconsumer What a humiliating piece of junk for Singer. In my 48 years of sewing, it didn't matter how expensive or inexpensive the Singer was it worked! I do alterations and I bought this machine because I could grab the handle and go. It jams, the thread gets stuck in the bobbin, the zig zag doesn't work, the light is poorly positioned behind the needle, getting to the bobbin is inconvienent, the spool of thread lies down and you have to use a round piece of plastic to hold it in place (that was a whale of an idea) and if the slot of the spool faces toward the front of the machine the thread gets caught in the slot causing the thread to break. 01/02/2013

Singer made and are still making the best sewing machines available.This Singer 2263 machine has good features like 23 stitches including a good selection of decorative. And streach stiches. Another feature i find usefull is the automatic threading device as i can thread the needle without my reading glasses and i never haveto find the needle threader in my sewing kit because the automatic needle threader is built in.This machine is sold as a basic model however it has all the features that i need and want. Yet i find it easy to use for quick tasks. 06/23/2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by kitchenandgardengal Great for Price I really like this machine. I sew mostly things for the home - pillows, comforter covers etc and this machine has everything I need. I love the self threading part - I watched the video it came with and have had no problems with it. It doesn't have a lot of fancy stitches but I don't need them. Haven't used any of the extra stitches except for the buttonhole maker and that worked just fine. Great value for what I need and being a Singer - I'm hoping it will last a long time. 02/11/2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by westwoodbulldog No Zipper Foot??? We bought 4 of these Singer sewing machines for our beginning sewing classes. They are very reasonably priced and fairly simple to use. They are not that easy to thread, as the left hand side does not open for easy access - that is annoying. (My Kenmore at home does). I also assumed that a zipper foot would be included - WRONG! Most people that I know would use a zipper foot before a buttonhole foot or quilting foot. We bought them from WalMart and WalMart in our town does not carry the zipper feet - unbelievable! Now I have to order online. 02/11/2011
